But I’ll tell you a story of my personal experience. I went on a date with this girl, set up by a mutual friend. It went great but afterwards we went some time without seeing each other. We reconnect and I set up a high effort date and….she flakes. Last minute too.

I cut her off for wasting my time but we remain acquaintances.

She later invites me to her party and it’s a good time we reconnect afterwards and she reached out to ask to hang out again. Okay cool! I set up a nice date for us. I try to keep some light text going but she’s not really responding. No sweat we have real plans soon. So much time passes that the day before I reach out early morning to confirm the date tomorrow. No response. I had to cancel our reservations. She would swear up and down she wanted to go and was excited, calling me and apologizing profusely.

In the end I said it had been a pattern that I did not want to subject myself to anymore. If they flaked a lot before it’s likely they will again. Read behaviors not their words.

She is very much aware what she has done. There is really no point in opening the wound. She is probably not interested enough anyway. Move towards a more reliable sexual partner. Also, I would advice not to get into this dodgy mindset with "I don't want to make it uncomfortable for her so let's not call it a date". You don't need to clarify things if not necessary, it's natural to be open to different scenarios when you meet 1 on 1, with your initial attitude you are kinda lowering your own value in her eyes by openly neglecting a wish to have a clear context. Stay laidback, it is more healthy.

You are honest/direct to a fault... but then post about the situation here? This is paradox. Like a person reflecting enough to decide for whatever reason to tell her it's not a date and then not reflecting at ll why she bailed on you?

Dude… so many things wrong here…. Just don’t bother any more…. Don’t even try calling her out, because you’re just as much to blame; learn from this and next time tell them it is a date; shoot the shot; I don’t imagine you were hoping for a friendzone effect here but you suggested that you were and that wasn’t worth her time; next time just ask for a date; if it doesn’t work then you can be friends; upscaling from friends to relationships is hard

No need to call her out, since friends have loser obligations in those regards. If she believes you really want to be her friend just to be her friend, it likely won’t be a problem.

But you didn’t want to just be her friend. That’s why you’re hurt enough to delete her number. And that’s what she could see — that you were not brave enough to be open about your desire, and instead did the nice guy. She’s probably fed up with nice guys

Yeah, delete flakes and don’t think about it. If you see them again, don’t bring it up. It’s not her fault if she is not feeling it.

When get better overall, flakes go way down, but you still have to deal with the PITAs, so delete delete delete 😂

if you cross paths again, keep it simple. acknowledge her apology, but don't dwell on it. people flake sometimes, it happens. focus on what you want moving forward, not past disappointments.
