I personally prefer going out alone; it's when I have the most success. It's not awkward at all unless you make it that way.

That being said, it can be tough for a beginner with any amount of approach anxiety. You need to become comfortable with striking up a conversation with whoever you run into. Develop the gift of gab, so to speak. Practice your conversational skills - talk to everyone you meet.

The next time you go out lone wolf, just go open sets. Talk to everyone the moment you walk into the bar - don't give yourself time to become nervous and slink away from the crowd. Guys, girls, mixed sets - it doesn't matter. Set the pace for the evening and make new friends. Once you've become familiar with the people around you, and you've warmed up your mentality, pick a lady and go for it.

Going out alone is the best. I've found some wings I like hanging out with so I haven't dolo'd much lately, but I need to get back on it.

I enjoy the company of the wings, but honestly when it comes to results I'm much more on my game when I'm dolo.

If you're worried about saying it to chicks you meet, just tell them you were supposed to meet your friend there but he messaged you at the last minute and cancelled.

Being honest isn't so bad either though. If you met a girl at a bar and found out she was there alone would you think she's strange? If it's no big deal to you then it won't be a big deal to them.

I used to go out alone more, I need to get back into that... it's uncomfortable, but the trick is to just find random people and start chatting with them. I've made a lot of friends doing this.

Going out alone doesn't always mean to the bar/club.

Try the mall, grocery store, nice downtown area with lots of foot traffic. Gas station (can't tell you how many #s I've pulled at the pump) basically any errands you need to do, do them and get yourself into the mindset of "If I see a pretty girl while I'm doing this shit that I need to do anyway, I might as well get her number while I'm at it".

I don't think I'd do good on my own if I were at a club/bar alone. It's just not me, but I absolutely kill it when I'm alone running errands (grocery, mall, gas station, dry cleaners, etc) I've actually had people compliment me on my ability to talk to strangers.
