Not to get into an argument here, but it really isn't science in the fact that there are no proper statistical techniques like population controls and proper samplings, there is no null-hypothesis testing, etc. But it is fun and interesting to read about, and sometimes useful.

Of course Pickup isn't a real science as you rightly point out, but we do take the findings of science on attraction and relationships and implement them in practice. Plus, we do have a semi-organized system of knowledge which is subject to hypothesis testing, continual results duplication testing, and 'peer-review'. Basically, we are continually conducting experiments trying to find out what works for women and testing it until we can develop rules and then theories.

I'm not being serious about any of this of course, but I wouldn't go so far as to call OkCupid science.
