I’m about to turn 28 and am feeling really lost in life. I have no problem getting with attractive women, but as some of those relationships go on, I find myself pedestalizing them because I doubt my value, and they’ll end up falling apart sometimes because of that.
They’ve made me realize that I don’t really have anything in my life that makes me excited to get out of bed in the morning. Nothing I’m building or working towards, so naturally these women become the most exciting thing in my life.
I’ve been taught that male relationships are unfulfilling growing up, and I’m in therapy trying to work through that.
I work in a sales job with a product I’m absolutely not passionate about despite being excellent at it. I love to surf, am an okay songwriter, a decent cook, and love languages. But I’m so afraid to expand on those, because I’m worried I won’t find them fulfilling or go “why am I doing this?”
My mother passed when I was 12, and I’ll have access to an inheritance that’ll let me live comfortably in a few years. But even with all that, I can just picture myself feeling empty. What good is wealth without purpose?
I’m sure we’ve all been here before, but I want to hear from the people that have “figured it out” for themselves at least. Thanks if you made it this far.
