Embrace rejection. Sounds silly, but even James Bond gets rejected. You know how he reacts? He gets this "Well you can't get them all" look on his face and moves on. Pay attention to the last couple of seconds of this video. Sure, fictional character etc. but I think this is the mindset you should aim for.

The way I see failure is that you need to experience it if you want to be as successful as possible. Example: I like to do powerlifting. Sometimes you need to check how much you can actually lift. So what do you do? You take a day where you lift increasingly heavy weights until you fail. If you don't fail, you don't know how much you can really lift.

If she does reject you, don't let it get weird. Move on. Pretend like it never happened, don't get angry, don't get bitter, and I promise things will be just like before. If you like a girl and want to ask her out, no one is going to hold it against you that you do.

You need to realize that it is better to try and get rejected a 100 times, than never having the courage to try at all. Realize that you will regret it eventually if you don't try, and that the feeling of regret, is a lot worse than the short lived feeling of rejection.

Remember you learn a lot from being rejected, but you learn nothing from not trying.

Rejection only gets awkward when you decide to let it be. I've been rejected by plenty of women and remained on friendly terms with them. The reason so many people feel that rejection is inevitably awkward is because of the mismatching levels of emotional investment by both parties. Bringing that difference in emotional investment between two people out into the open is how shit gets weird. If you can take rejection and let it roll off your back, no awkwardness. The rub is that you need to make your move quickly.

Yes, I know you think you are just afraid of rejection but I think it is pretty obvious that you "know" she is not interested. Could be because you see her so much and do nothing it's very hard to suddenly turn it on unless she is attracted to you because you have already painted a very beta picture of yourself. However, note, if you see her everyday because you work together, it could be for the best you don't ask her out.

If she rejects you, you will immediately have a heart attack and the ambulance will have to come take you to the hospital and if you don't get there in time you will die of a heart attack. Plus she will tell everybody you know and everybody will laugh at you forever for being such a weirdo asking her out. Plus, you are legally required to put the rejection on your resume so all your future employers will know you got rejected.

From the sounds of it, you have a case of the oneities. My best advice is to ask her out. No offense, but she will probably reject you because to me it sounds like you're too invested in her and have thought about her a ton. Your body language and emotions are going to betray you and make you come off a bit overbearing, so she might let you down gently. If she does turn you down, at least you can move on and forget about her, and not be phased by her presence. If you do go out, SHWING!

Personally, if I saw her everyday I wouldn't do it unless I was 100% sure she was into me as well. You also have to take into account if any of your friends know her and if it would be likely that any of your friends would become friends with her because the last thing you want is to get rejected and then have her hanging out with all your friends in which it could end up uncomfortable to hang out with them.
