I've been trying to work on myself lately and have tried to really manifest a happy lifestyle. Over the months I have had cycles and periods of happiness and generally not giving fucks. I could be positive about a majority of my situations and overall just be able to smile and laugh. I think the reason for this is because even during my life when I feel like I may be alone or have a limited amount of reliable people in my life I always fell back on the idea that if I wanted more reliable people or if I wanted to meet more girls I could simply go out and cold approach and it'd be as easy as that. This idea presented itself as a safety for me so that I could be assured that my social situation at the moment literally meant jack shit which is why I didn't give any fucks if on certain days I didn't really surround myself with people or if certain people just didn't like me. But when I actually did go out and cold approached and got flaked I guess I got hit by a realization that it wouldn't be as easy as I thought to meet new girls that would potentially want to have sex/hang out. Maybe I'm wrong about this and it has just been my luck but either way that realization struck me hard and during this period I'd be a bit depressed and down.

Obviously these two periods are really toxic and not a reliable way at all for me to develop myself as a person and to be happy. What I'm asking is how do I truly be happy on a consistent basis without trying to fall back on ideas or thoughts to justify my happiness? I know one is to get hobbies but what are some other options? Is truly being happy with whatever the situation you are in something that just takes a lifetime to develop?

Each day I wanna wake up and see things in a positive light. I wanna keep my emotions in check and not over think the negative things that may happen to me. What are some ways to accomplish this?
