As someone who of course still wants to improve, you gotta realise that overthinking/preparing is killing you.

I was at one point down to an autistic level of trying to prepare exactly what to say, and that’s when you would have the biggest level of insecurity in your mind. You will fuck up, own it, it’s part of the process, but your mind eventually will give you things to work with.

The problem with anticipating what she will say and how you’ll react to it, is that it takes you out of the flow/present moment, and that’s the worst thing you can do - how do you feel when a woman or any of your friends look at their phone mid conversation, almost like they are absent minded and you’ve been reduced to somebody who is not worth listening to?

Exactly. You do not want to create even a fraction of that feeling with a woman.

Texting wise similar concept, I messed up recently after my first date post-break up from a long term relationship, where I had the second date guaranteed essentially, and I over chased/didn’t match her energy over text.

In person she melted into my arms straight away for the entire night, but over text she was neutral or somewhat warm to my flirts, however she didn’t actually escalate them, yet I carried on, and on, and on and on.

You have to balance it and calibrate, bit like a missile, when you’re going too far to the left, you adjust by going a bit to the right, but you don’t do a 180.

Most people are bad at improv comedy, so don't worry about it. You can always tell her you aren't a big texter and prefer to save conversation for in person.
