My friends think of me as having a good sense of humour, and i've been asked a number of times to be 'best man' at weddings.

But I also often struggle to make girls laugh. I don't know whether I subconsciously become too serious around girls, or whether girls in general have a different sense of humour to guys.

I remember listening to RSDTyler's foundations course, and he kept saying ''at this point, all I would do is say something to make the girl laugh'', and i'm thinking 'how?!!'. Is there a foolproof way to make girls laugh out of nowhere?! Little canned lines, maybe?

With me, humour kind of needs to be 'built up' and I need something to work with. If someone puts a girl in front of me and says 'OK, you've got 20 seconds to make her laugh. Go!!' I don't know what i'd do, lol

What you're seeing there is a particular kind of negative approach to "game" that involves heavy use of "negging."

And while sometimes a little teasing is a perfectly valid response to someone whose head is too big for their pants, too many guys use this approach every time because they're too insecure to deal with a woman without first trying to lower her self-esteem.

As for being "boring," you're missing the point of social interactions and putting way too much pressure on yourself to be something that isn't even needed.

All you NEED to do is get people talking about themselves. Be interested, rather than trying to be some try-hard entertainment.

Actively listen.
Ask follow-up questions based on what you learn through active listening.
Pay attention to what's going on around you. There is always a lot of information just floating around. There will be strange, interesting, and funny things that jump out at you. But only if your mental resources are focused outwards, rather than inwards, trying to craft some random thing to say.
You don't need to crack jokes. You don't need to be "funny." You don't need to be an asshole.

Dont try too hard. Just be relaxed and throw in a comment you think is funny from time to time. Also, girls really like it when you (sarcastically) make fun of them, just a little statement which is obviously false, but kinda embarrassing for the girl.

Practice, make some friends that are girls and just treat them like your bros then it will become second nature to tease and flirt with potential girls

How to make a girl laugh you ask? It is easy, make yourself laugh. If you get really comfortable with saying and doing things you like, things that make you laugh, you will attract people who share your type of humor, and they will find you hilarious. But be aware not to overdo, you don't want to become the comedian, or dancing monkey for people! This is why you only should laugh at things, and make jokes about things you laugh, and only when you feel like it, not to make others feel good.

You were not put on this planet to entertain women. Be yourself - the best self you are. You might want to look for women that don't need to be entertained, but rather interesting conversation, more intellectual, etc. Find yourself and be that.

Having said that - if you truly are funny, but just not with women. Like /r/TheXXL said, make yourself laugh entertain yourself and they will follow. You are communicating that you're funny and they will follow.

Unpredictability in Irony, complimentary sarcasm, role play, puns, even some things that are straight contradictory. For example, if a girl ever asked if you think she wouldn't get mad and let you touch her, you could so playfully say that you can still touch while she gets mad

It's all about self amusement

The girl will laugh if you are laughing. They straight up will laugh at anything if you think it's funny because they just want you to know that they are attracted to you. Laughing is really just an IOI. Literally 95% of what they laugh at will not be things they actually think are funny.

So relax, enjoy yourself, and don't forget to smile because life is good :)
