I went out for lunch with coworkers to a nearby bar. We work night shift so this was around 9 pm.

We sat at the bar and I found our bartender extremely attractive. I noticed she had a tattoo on her abdomen but I couldn’t make out what it said. So I asked her. Something about angels, and she went on to show me another of her tattoos that was an angel wing. It was a brief conversation.

As we were leaving, I told my coworker I wanted to try something. A different girl hands us our receipt. I ask angel tattoo for her name. And I tell her there’s something wrong with my receipt. She tried to explain that it was under the different girls name. I said, “No that’s not it, your number’s not on here.” She smiled and wrote her number on my receipt.

This was my first time ever attempting something like that with someone I’d consider “out of my league”. I texted her later that night. Saying I had to leave back to work, but that I’d like to take her out on a date sometime. I haven’t gotten a response. But that’s not the point. Doing something like that was bold for me and I’m proud of it.

P.S. I didn’t really know what to text or when to text after I got her number. Still new to this. Any advice is appreciated.
