Not that I don't agree that people should care less and take the jump, but this is the equivalent of saying stop being depressed to a depressed person.

It's a useless argument, there are tons of situations that people have to deal with, whether it's their mental state (which I'm sure is a big one for a lot of people) or something else that's internal or external.

I told my close friend about the unwanted romantic feelings I had for her, not because I wanted to date her, but because I was afraid my feelings would torment me and ruin our friendship.
