Common dating advice for guys is always start eating right and exercising. It's good advice, I really do believe everyone should be doing it, but I think a lot of people are expecting it to work miracles, and setting goals for themselves that are unrealistic. As a person who decided to get in shape and has stuck with it for more than a year, I want to talk about a few things.
-It will make you more attractive, but it will not make girls throw themselves at you. You still have to learn how to approach, how to hold a conversation, and how to close. It will make them more receptive to you, it'll make your chances of success higher, but your chance of success is still 0 if you put 0 effort it. I have seen buff 30 year olds that were still virgins because they didn't know basic social skills.
-You still need to learn how to dress well and groom yourself. Once you get a nice physique, definitely pick tight clothes that complement it, but don't go overboard and pick clothes that just brazenly flaunt it, that just comes across as self-absorbed. Communicate confidence, not arrogance.
-I feel like once you start to put on some muscle, your posture improves, and that makes a bigger difference than the muscle itself. It's almost as if the human body evolved in very harsh conditions where people would need to have big muscles because the constant struggle for survival they were under necessitated them.
-If you currently work out just once every few months, trying to start off at 4 times a week is probably not going to last long. This needs to be a change that will last long term, so you need to hold yourself to a frequency you can actually maintain. When I started, I held myself to the standard of just running once per week, and lifting once per week, and I was getting results from the consistency. I started increasing the lifting frequency after I had gotten into it for a while. It's been a balance though, I went and injured myself so I had to let my frequency drop back down to once a week.
-Speaking of injuries, get in the habit of having proper form from the beginning, and don't try to lift weights you can't handle - otherwise you'll injure yourself and won't be able to make any progress at all.
-The vast majority of girls I talk to prefer leaner, cut guys, over massive big guys. When you get started with working out and start noticing results, you get into it and that is great, but remember that past a certain point it isn't helping you with game. They say diet is 2/3 of it, and if you're trying to get the body that'll get you the most girls, having low fat and noticeable muscles will be better than gargantuan muscles. I man if your goal is gargantuan muscles, that's great, good for you, but just know that it isn't needed.
-Fitness is a hobby in it's own right, and while it's definitely something I believe everyone should be doing in some capacity, if you're just doing it only to get girls, you're going to hate it. Try to find routines that you enjoy, get into it, and have some fun with it. I personally enjoy fitness, and would keep doing it even if it didn't make a difference in my attractiveness.
Hope this helps.
