Last week I did my first cold approach. I have social anxiety and have had panic attacks in the past. I made myself go for it and it was a rough one. Barely managed to mumble my pre-prepared line through my dry mouth and nerves. When she asked me to repeat myself I just said forget it and walked out. The feeling was really rough. Even though I knew I had done something I should be proud of for even going up to her the feeling of looking like an idiot in public pulled at me for days. Even as I’m writing this I’m cringing…

Anyways, today I went for it again. I’ve been going out practicing giving strangers compliments but haven’t had the gumption to do a full direct approach. Saw a cute girl walking and I ran after her, stopped her, was direct about my intentions and felt in control of my anxiety. She looked like she was a bit nervous too which actually helped put me at ease. She didn’t end up being interested and just thanked me for the compliment but the feeling of walking away from that after having finally done the thing I’ve literally been wanting to do for years was something else! Super excited to keep growing and see where this can take me.
