I (26M) attended a club's late-night student party yesterday. I met this amazing girl there, and we hit it right off. There was a long queue for drinks at the bar, and I started talking to her when I noticed she was standing behind me. She got her drinks first and then waited for me to get mine and join her at one of the seats in the seating areas. After a few drinks mixed with clever talking and flirting, I went in for the kiss, but she pulled away. This is the first point I should have walked away and focused on someone else. Then we danced for some time before going to catch the air outside.

We were walking back and forth with my hand on her shoulder and then her waist. But she kept giving mixed signals. My game also was thrown off after the earlier kiss rejection, and I wasn't trying as hard. We discussed science, dreams, and other topics in depth. It is one of the best conversations I have had with a girl in a club. After this, she said she wanted to go back to dancing. I noticed she didn't wait for me to join her on the dance floor. We danced for some time till she went on to mess with this one guy's hoodie. That guy and another of his friend join us, and she willingly invites them, knowing it is a clear cockblock. I tried a small test. I told her I would get some air outside and asked if she wanted to join. She said she would be on the dance floor and hoped I knew where to find her when I returned. After I quickly returned after catching a breath outside, I saw her fully in tune, dancing with the new guy. She noticed I was behind her but didn't seem to care. So, I just left the club. I was headed home in the wrong direction, and when I corrected myself to walk back in the other direction, I noticed her and the new guy sitting together outside the club, talking intimately.

I should have walked away way before when I could sense the interest diminishing, but I was still happy that I left. A younger me would have gone back and demanded an explanation from her. Though she was an incredible catch, I am proud of myself for standing up for my self-respect and walking away.
