So.. I think I'm.. Fuck this feels embarrassing but i need help

I think I'm thirsty or starved.. I don't know exactly what this is

I probably have my head in my ass but i need to get this through and ask the experienced men on how they handled this

So i talked to a girl yesterday - you can say she was from social circle (my least favorite category for attracting women - since alot could go wrong there )

The only reason i talked to her is because i got to know she's in the same major as me and that is how I 'opened' her. Emphasis on the fact that the open here was a conversation starter and there was no motive to game her.

i had no intention of talking to her otherwise and i really don't want any attraction

I'm sure she's not attracted to me either and that shouldn't bother me

As for our talk, it was mostly me guiding her about a certain topic in the major - i was kind of dominating the conversation and.. She was mostly listening (I'm way more senior than her)

The problem is.. Afterwards, i felt very insecure like i kept thinking did i talk too much ? Was i too overbearing ? Did my breath smell (yeah i know it's weird) ? Was i being too boring ?

This was yesterday and today when we came across each other, she just waved her hand at me and waved back - we both had smiles on our back

I don't want any attraction, because i don't think she's really my type and also because a very good and senior friend of mine likes her. He's the one who told me she's very friendly etc

Now.. You guys must be wondering what i want help with ?

Well firstly, why was i so worried about how the conversation went, when i have zero intentions of dating this girl ?

Secondly, I felt really good and 'relived' today when we came across each other and waved hands at each other. I felt like there was some great energy inside me that was galvanized upon seeing her today

Why did i feel this way ? What was so energizing about saying hi to a female friend from my social circle ? Wtf is this

I think this is neediness and thirst on my part , due to lack of experience with women, but i don't really know what to make of this.. I really want a way out of this

Any help ?

Esp any Senior guys who know about such confusions, please please help me out

P.S : for context, i have never dated, never had a girlfriend or even a casual relationship with a girl and i did not grow up in a Western (American or European) culture, I'm from a religious and conservative culture which I did not like. I have never approached any girl yet
