What's the point? Really? I mean, what do you think you are achieving with this routine?

I'm starting to think that the use of routines is a kind of approval-seeking behaviour.

I've been in field every day for the last two weeks. Some of this time I've been going out with a couple of good pua's. One of them is actually mentioned in the book "the game". I see him doing routines. I see how they hold him back. Same routine stack every time. Over and over again.

He's become a feedback junky, addicted to the reactions of the girls in the sets. A kind of performing monkey. Yet he misses all sorts of behavioural cues.

Don't get me wrong, this guy is good. He's a great guy and a good player. His life is sorted, and he has women. But he's got so much more potential that he wastes because he can't let routines go. I have a feeling that at some level he dislikes himself. That's the only possible reason I can think of for why he feels he has to hide behind routines.

I'm not sure I understand the hostility towards posts such as these. To post something of this nature is not the same as endorsing "routine stacking" as a superior, or even good strategy compared to simply being yourself.

In my opinion many parts of conversations are scripted even though they are comprised of your genuine thoughts. Good conversationalists think ahead of the conversation and give themselves the time they need to break out an anecdote or story that they know is relevant and adds value.

I don't believe this even does most people's idea of a "routine" justice. This is just a small quip that could help, or not. But any man worth his salt will go out and test it for himself rather that ridicule the idea without any consideration.

By the way, I generally agree that operating without the help of routines and habituated strategies is more desirable.

I don't even see how this is a good "routine" - it's rather pathetic.
