I've been meditating a couple times a week and I think it's been doing 2 things: (1) I've been getting more approach anxiety on any set I've been contemplating because I seem to feel the fakeness of the situation, (2) my in the moment improvisation opens have become incredibly natural and seamless. That is, my ability to do planned approaches diminishes, but I seem to do better on naturally arising moments.

I simply cannot smoke pot and game. I am convinced that I'm saying strange things and memory and planning limitations make conversations difficult. I won't even smoke pot if I'm trying to talk to girls the next day.

I'm not sure if alcohol is a net plus or net minus. When I'm in a club/bar talking to some girl sober, I'm probably way more self-conscious than I need to be, probably convinced things are going worse than they are. When I'm drunk, I'm not so sure my memory is good enough to hold a competent conversation.
