People don't socialize at bars like in the U.S., and there is a significant difference between a club and a "night" (club), which I found out the hard way. Use the fact that you speak English to your advantage because a lot of Korean girls find that attractive and then just go from there. Also, helps to be a good looking foreigner. Can't offer too much advice on k/f close but good luck and have fun! (you'll be drinking soju everyday)

korean girls can drink a lot. don't let her out drink you! also, everything over there is about status. if you are white, it will help you a lot!

Hey, buddy. I live in South Korea and was in Seoul last weekend. In some ways it's a whole other world here. In others, mostly foreigner communities and more liberal Koreans, it's just like being in the states. The language barrier is a problem, but there are a lot of cute girls in the bigger cities who speak English. If you're here long enough to make friends, it shouldn't be a problem.

I've heard that LMR is a big deal, but never experienced it myself. I've found that if you can get past the initial meeting moment, something is going to happen. Especially if you're in a club/bar environment in a big city. If you're looking for a relationship that's another story.

I've heard ever horror story under the sun. Stalkers, fake pregnancies, scorned lovers trying everything they know to get a foreigner deported.

I was doing well kiss closing and getting numbers for awhile. Day 2's I got a lot of flakes. I think they get scared as they get sober the next day.

I need to start day approaching more, but the language barrier is frustrating when going for approach. A lot of times I don't bother because it's a high chance it's a dead end.

The gym teacher at my school wants to hang and she's super sexy. I don't see her that often but I'm trying to avoid my pen in company ink...

LMR can happen, but it's generally the flaking on the second meeting that is the biggest problem. I've hooked up with three Korean girls, and a fair amount of foreigners. Foreign girls are pretty easy here. In Seoul, my favorite place to go to pick up women is Hongdae. It's a huge party area around a university, so the crowd is full of young girls. It's the best place to go to meet girls with any decent chance of speaking English.

My experience: I maybe approached three Korean girls while I was there (a year). One looked at me in horror and walked away quickly, kind of hurt. The other two were more open -- one I ended up seeing for a few months, broke her heart and now I can never show my face there again (not true, but I feel bad about leaving).

On the other hand, ESL teachers are easier than finding a virgin on Reddit. Before I went to Korea, I'd slept with maybe 2 or 3 women? After: 12 (one was Korean).
