Was hanging out at home last night and needed to get out of the house, so I got a Uber and went out to the bars. I’m late 20’s and it’s a mid sized college town.

Went out a little later then usual, and got downtown around 10:30. First stop was surprisingly dead compared to the last time I was there. Ordered a drink and went over to the pool tables, met a group of 4 guys. They welcomed me into their group, hung out with them and played for maybe a hour before they left. It was still dead so I headed out to the next spot without doing anymore approaches.

Walked into the next spot, talked to the bouncer and headed to the back to take a seat for a minute. I was playing on my phone when a group ordered shots and one of the guys comes over and hands me one. Went over with their group, took the shot, and tried to open up a couple of the girls but they weren’t interested at all. Talked to one of the bar tenders for a minute and headed out.

Walked into a couple places to see what was busy and check out some places I haven’t been. Most were quieter then I expected and I didn’t see anyone I was interested in so I headed right out. Made it to the final stop of the night around 12:30.

The place was busy, went to the back by the pool tables and sat down at a open table. A couple guys came and sat down with me, and I talked to them for a few. They were out just watching women, didn’t seem to have any intention of talking to any of them. There was a group of girls directly across from us sitting on a bench up against the wall, that they had their eyes on. I wasn’t overly into any of them but it’s getting late and I haven’t gotten anywhere so I get up and head over to talk to them.

Opened one of them up asking if she was waiting to play, she wasn’t but neither was I. Started talking to her, and ended up in a conversation with here and another group that was sitting beside her. I sat down between them going back and forth talking between the two groups before one of the groups leaves and it’s me and the original girl I opened. Talked to her and the rest of her group for probably 30 mins until the bar closed. Tried to escalate with some keno, she reciprocated just didn’t get the vibe she was interested in anything more, but she seemed to enjoy the conversation.

This is the second or third time I’ve been out solo in the last few months. I’ve opened and had some good conversations with a few groups just haven’t been able to close. Met some cool people and have had a few of them buy me drinks.

TLDR: No one cares that your out alone, just have a good time and be willing to meet people.
