I just listened to a really good episode of pickup podcast on this. It was one of their more recent ones. Bring a friend and mingle with everyone before hand and what not. A lot of girls bring their friends, but guys go alone. It increases your social value a ton if you can chat up everyone for 20 or so minutes beforehand if possible.

Avoid bullshit questions -- where do you live? What do you do? What did you study? -- and just use each interaction as an exercise in being funny. They're going to have 10-20 of the same versions of each conversation. Being the guy who sticks out will be a huge advantage. Ask her unique questions. Be overtly sexual.

THIS THIS THIS! Everybody asks the same three boring questions. Come up with three interesting questions and ask them of every girl instead. You'll have plenty of time to find out where she lives, what she does for money, and what she does for fun after you've made a good impression by not being yet another boring conversation.

Speed Dating Tips:
Think of questions that get the people talking in creative, fun, interesting ways. Even if it didn't make sense.
Mimic the way they sit, hands, speech patterns, facial expressions.
Only select the few people you had genuine chemistry with -- this one I remember reading in the book, for some reason if you tick "yes" to all the girls, even if they can't see that piece of paper the men who do this get less "yes"-es in return from the girls.

I struggle with coming up with creative, interesting questions. I tend to run out quickly and go back to the generic ones and sabotage myself. Is there a list of good questions?

I love events like these. Every date is an opportunity to reinvent yourself. I'm an astronaut, then a racecar driver, then a spy.. You only have moments to make a connection. Be fun and mysterious, and you'll have dates to spread out over the next month or more.

Story time: My friend and I went to a speed dating event. However, right before the event started, we pulled out some masks. I had a Bill Clinton mask and he had a horse mask. I would talk about politics and Monica Lewinsky while he wouldn't talk at all and try to eat shit.
Needless to say, we didn't get any dates (though I did get offered two numbers (which I turned down)). But there is a point! I looked around every now and then and saw a bunch of girls looking really bored. This wasn't the case with the girls we talked to; they were laughing and actually enjoying themselves.
The best advice I've ever gotten from this sub is to be what all the other guys aren't. Obviously, wearing masks is the wrong frame to get dates, but we refused to just ask the same boring questions as everyone else, and everyone had more fun because of it.
