I've tried to make this argument before but I'm not sure many agreed. But I'll try again.

The seduction community is made up of individuals. On an individual level, much of the advice is quite good and will help an individual to be there best self and do better with women. But on a large scale we are shooting ourselves in the foot. Before some have argued that the popularity of seduction and PUA isn't big enough to have an affect on culture but I know personally I have seen it and met guys that talk of the game and know the lingo, and I have seen guys out in the field using techniques I've read about.

We are creating the alpha males which we are competing against. We all give each other tips and share stories. It's common bonding group behavior and guys feel good when we help out those close to us. Im sure it's rooted in evolutionary biology to feel good sharing these types of tips with close friends and people in your "group". But extrapolate this to a bigger audience. We are posting on public boards read by a much larger audience then our immediate friends.

Correct me if I'm wrong but chasing women is a zero sum game. There are a finite amount of women out there and guys..we ARE chasing the same women. Each of us is a competitor of the other.

If I can give a parallel. Imagine an economy where jobs are in high demand and many are unemployed looking for work. (shouldn't have to try to hard). Now imagine that you know of a company that is looking to set up interviews. Is it in your best interest to go on a public board and say "Hey company XYZ is hiring! They need two new reps. They are setting up interviews next week" And not just that but beyond that to pump up your competitors and give them inside tips. "This is a great company and I think you guys can do it..come apply with me. Also, I have heard that you're more likely to get hired if you study up a bit on database design before the interview. And they do this type of behavioral test...this info should help you get hired"

Or perhaps if you like cell phones imagine Google and Apple sharing best practices for selling handsets or making mobile OS's. They aren't going to do that because they are competing for the same customers.

Isn't that exactly what we're doing when we share what amounts to "trade secrets" of a sort?

But the thing that kills me the most is the common repeated mantra of go out and approach 10 girls a day or something to that extent. Without a doubt we are boosting girls ego's and devaluing men because we are increasing their opportunities. Do the math. Even if only 10% of men are responding to seduction community tactics they are increasing their approaches by likely 1000%. So these 10% might be doing enough approaches for a whole population of men. Women might instead of getting approached 3 times a week now be getting approached 2 or 3 times a day.

While I agree that any or most of the info in here will help the individual the overall trend is that we are making it harder on ourselves.

The sad irony is that despite all our efforts in the end the winner is women. We are in effect becoming an evolutionary force on ourselves. We are presenting more and thus giving women more options to chose the best man.

Update: Again it seems that most are disagreeing with me. I've concluded that to argue that PUA doesn't change the dating environment is to argue that PUA techniques don't work.
