What are some good ways to Push and Pull? How do you know when you are doing too much of one and not enough of the other?

Not fun tricks ... But principles I naturally follow that do the job of push and pull for me:

make your desire and feelings and intent clear. Both sexual 'i wanna fuck you' feelings, and infatuated 'i like you' feelings ... however be outcome independent about it, it's not showing you like her while hoping she likes you back, it's just showing you like her. That difference completely changes your demeanor and tone.
When you are looking at her, really take her in. Strong eye contact, stand close (really close for night-game) , look at her lips sometimes, just enjoy taking her in as the sexy creature she is ... However, don't give her your attention all the time. Let your attention wander rather easily to other things when other things pique your interest. Have quick small talk with someone else around if you feel like talking. Go get a drink on your own or go to the bathroom if you feel like it. Look at something on your phone if you feel you've got to check it. To sum this point up: strongly and shamelessly enjoy looking at her, but act like you've seen a girl at least a couple times before, and let your attention wander.

I don't really consciously go "ok time to pull, ok time to push" the real trick is to make Playful your mode of operandi. if you're being playful some shit talk comes out "push" but you're still interested, so you "pull".

Push/Pull isnt something you consciously do--well, it is, but not entirely. Its a state of mind. Like a user explained previously in this thread, you assert your intentions and desires confidently, but not in a creepy way.

For example, you make good eye contact, you fearlessly compliment her when you want to, all while giving off an impression that she still has to qualify herself to you. The thing that will set you apart from every other guy just trying to get some is that you will be engaging, fun, yet detached, and as a result your demeanor will be STRONG and NICE as opposed to frustrated and kiss-ass-like. You will find this demeanor by continuing to practice everything you have (hopefully) learned thus far:

In attraction phase, early in the relationship, you avert your eyes and mind from anything that will make you want to fuck her. Also at this stage you use friendly words like "buddy" and "champ." Once IOIs are exchanged - you stay present and engaged in this woman and her friends, but as soon as you find yourself catching up to the conversation, you are instantly detached and casually move onto the next activity that interests YOU--she will follow. Once rapport is established - you are there for her in times of fun and despondency. But as soon as she starts throwing a pity party or feeling sorry for herself, you stop enabling her to do so.

Push/pull is an effective method that is easy to master and teaches us a much bigger lesson than originally perceived--how to detach at an instant when need be. This method is based around the idea of being able to walk away at any minute. The difficulty lies within walking the line of moderation; making sure your woman knows you arent there to kiss her ass, while also making sure she isnt always scared you will leave her.

You need to be able to walk away at any second, mentally. Stop thinking about HER--her ass, her lips, that hint of skin she showed on her stomach today--and start thinking about YOU--your goals, your desires, and how she fits into them. We are not here to kiss any woman's ass, and they are not here to kiss ours. Find the balance through detaching yourself from your dick, and push/pull will be instilled in your personality.

Edit: To add, my opinion of canned push/pull methods are mildly effective at best. Canned methods specifically for push/pull tend to come off as unnatural, and as we all know, women tend to pick up on emotion quickly, and nothing turns them off more than a man who is being disingenuous with them.

I think the ultimate key to this is looking at the face and eyes constantly. You have to be interpreting reactions. For me this was something I didn't do because I, like many redditors spend lots of time not interacting with humans. I've found my own biggest disparity between intention vs outcome to be simply because I don't look at faces often enough. Looking for a reaction to what I've said had changed so much, but I'd always forget to do it.

You should read the definitive book of body language. You can calibrate your push/pull with what you learn. It improved my game a lot.
