lift weights, and learn how to dress, groom yourself and put in work to improve your attractiveness. you can't fake attractiveness. your body matters. my gf really likes the fact that I lift and wear well fitting clothing and minor jewelry like chains and watches/bracelets and cologne. get some subtle facial surgery if you can help it to improve your symmetry. start mewing, it will help with your face.

more energy spent on your part = better results in all facets of life and developing authentic game.

Read the book: Models. mark Manson writes good advice on being authentic that works for me. could work for you.

treat women like people, and be playful. don't have expectation, try to have as much fun as you can in the moment when you approach's and try to flirt, because tomorrow isn't guaranteed, so stop being so scared of everything.

Learn bro, test, and tweak, go out onto the field and test shit and put yourself out there, get out of that shy bubble if you have one, there’s nothing worse than not approaching a woman you could’ve easily approached and regretting it later, personally I use the 3 second rule, if I see a girl I want, I go up to her within 3 seconds, cause if you dont, you start to overthink shit, open with something interesting, there’s different ways to open, depends if it’s a set or a single person. I open sets with something like “hey! Sounds like you guys are having fun” with a huge smile on my face, and enter the group, ask them who they are and start getting involved in the group, be in the moment, be playful, have good banter. Or say something like “hey! Seems like the party’s over here” and playfully with a smile join the conversation, talk to the group get comfortable with them before you go for who you want, or atleast fucking say hi lmao, “hey you guys seem pretty chill” if it’s a single person I ask a question of sorts, or even for sets, I walk up and with a smile on my face I ask “hey you guys look like fun! I got a question for ya...” and then ask an interesting question and by doing that you join the conversation. There’s a million different ways I’m sure you could find. But that’s a start. Was gonna tag on to u/aubounty's response on here which touches on a lot of good points, but I'll expand a bit on what's worked for me. Might be a bit long, but I hope you get something from it. I'll be as detailed as I can -

Game is more than just talking to women. It emanates from who you are as a person, and what you believe about yourself. Money, status, and good looks help, sure, but they'll never replace what you believe about yourself, which is expressed in every single thing you do and say, and how you carry yourself through life, which ultimately translates into how you make a woman feel (which is the core of seduction).

Basically bro, if you work on your inner game (your core beliefs, your mindset), as well as your outer game (the way you carry yourself, how you interact socially, and with women), you're taking a two pronged approach to solving your problem.

Check out the channels mentioned as well as some books. Take the information from those videos and those books, put it into practice, and keep a journal of it. This is probably the biggest thing that's helped me, because it's kept me consistent, and in those moments where things don't go well, and your motivation is in the pits, you can log it, and reflect on it, and learn from it. It might seem weird at first, because in the beginning you'll be writing about IOI's and other moments of progress that don't seem like a big deal at first, but eventually that shit snowballs.

Some introductory books to check out, that I think are worth the read;

Mystery Method (Gives you a foundation on talking to girls at night, in venues like bars, clubs, etc.)

Day Bang (Good primer and outline on how to talk to girls during the day time)

Models by Mark Manson (Good for mindsets and inner game/enjoying the interaction/being genuine)

As far as learning, I would do it like you would learn any other skill or art form, by breaking it up into bits and pieces (lessons), setting small, attainable goals for yourself that build upon each other, and putting in the work. If you want it, you need to want it so bad that you're willing to focus enough time and resources on it to get better at it. Make a plan based on the material your learning from, and execute it. Practice, practice, and practice. Write down in your journal what parts of your interactions went well, what parts didn't go well, and what you could do next time to make it go better.

In regards to other things in your life that will help build your inner game, you purpose is going to go a long way into helping your beliefs about yourself and the world. If you have a purpose that you pour your fucking heart and soul into, other people see that passion and drive boiling in you, and are attracted to it. It's why people are attracted to artists and career-minded individuals. It also becomes a source of happiness, that keeps you from seeking validation from women (which repels them).

As far as outer game, if you really have a 1/10 face, then do everything you can to maximize your looks (within reason). Learn to dress well/look clean, and pick up a gym membership. The benefits of getting/being fit spill over into every aspect of your life. It increases focus, helps you relieve stress, makes you attractive, builds physical and mental resilience, motivates you to overcome challenges, etc., the list keeps going.

Learn to love failure, and see it as a necessary lesson that brings you closer to your goal, instead of as a personal fault. As far as being 30, and being expected to know these skills, don't even worry about that. Everyone has their own challenges, and goes at their own pace. The important thing is that you're making a conscious decision to improve an area of your life that you're unhappy with, and following through.

I hope this helps, and I want you to know that this doubt is only temporary, and that the more practice you do, the better you'll get, and the better you'll get, the more confident you'll feel.

First and foremost the whole looks thing (face) can’t be changed. That’s who u are now and forever will be so embrace it and accept it. However there are certain things u could alter to change appearance (hairstyles, clothes, body language, psychic). It’s a good thing girls aren’t like us men, we tend to put a huge price on looks when lookin for a mate. Girls look at characteristics of a man over looks but it’s definitely a plus and helps overall. CONFIDENCE for example is a great trait to start practicing/obtaining, this will boost up ur value as a man and in the eyes of a potential mate. To put simply bring value to yourself by workin and focusing on urself first and along that journey you’ll meet girls who are going to find u attractive.

Workout so you have a fit body, do a PPL split 6x a week.

If you are truly THAT ugly, then it will be tough to pull women, I will not lie to you. You could potentially try plastic surgery, you have nothing to lose.

What I did, is any time I saw a female I found attractive, I would talk to her. Not expecting shit, just to build confidence in approaching women without my nerves getting over on me. After that ask em on a date. A lot will say no, but your bound to get a hit eventually. Don’t overthink it.

There is a ton of material out there I would suggest reading "the game" by Neal Strauss and if you liked it then adding "the truth" for perspective sometime later.

There is outer and inner game that you will need to set straight in order to be able to confidentially attentionally attract women.

The being ugly part isn't that bad. For men it's more about grooming, styling, being in shape and behaviour than about the actual face you have.

Most of the stuff you can just google. For outer game I advice the " mystery method" For inner game I would advice Ross Jeffries stuff and "the way of the natural" by tan perrion.

All of the above is very basic literature but will take you further. Good luck!

That pick up is overly complicated and what really would change your life is simply talking to everyone you can. Simply starting out and saying Hello or thinking nice things about someone, genuinely is a good start and then practice saying them as you pass by.

The pit fall is that people think that people don’t want to talk to them. That they’d be rejected or viewed as creepy. But in reality the opposite is true. That it’s weird NOT to want social interaction, because we’re social creatures.

Plus why does it even matter what people you’ll never see again think?

First you say you are ugly but what effort did you put into your looks? I think you are just being lazy and don't want to put any effort by the sound of your looks. When was the last time someone complimented you on your style? Are you at 10% body fat? Do you have hobbies? Do you have a strong network of friends you can hang out with? Do you have a career?

You really need to be confident. The uglier you are the more confident you will need to be cuz looks do count. It is absolutely possible to get even 10s with a lot of confidence. So what should you do to become confident? Go out and practice getting into situations that will make you nervous and stay in the nervousness until the other person leaves or tells u to piss off. The next level to this is go out and practice pissing people off. Make 5 people dislike you everyday for 30 days it will do wonders to your confidence because that's one of the biggest fears men have which is people getting upset at you.

Talk to women, It's the only sure way to get better. Talk to them everywhere you are, in line at the store, waiting for a drink at the bar, waitresses, the lady walking her dog around your neighborhood, etc. Just keep at it until they don't want to run away from you anymore. There's no cheat code
