What's the consensus on texting/dming after you get someone's number/instagram?

I've always wondered if Instagram/Snapchat even matters anymore. If she's above average in attractiveness, there's probably already plenty of guys sitting in her inbox. How would you even stand out in all that noise.

I thought that numbers might be a little better since they probably don't give those out nearly as freely but still. You're just another notification in her phone.

The 2020 pros usually advise that you establish some sort of vibe as you get the number, and then use callback humor when you send the text.

In terms of timing, grab it that day, you can hit get up that night.

Grab it at night? Text when she's likely to be able to respond.

The 2007 advice is that the number usually fails (even with a time bridge) and the better course of action is to take the encounter as far as it can go.

The interaction before the number/insta/snap close is the basis for how things will continue.

Was it a drive-by close?

Any compliance, time bridges, and/or venue changes?

I'm in the camp that Insta/Snap can help her remember your face, but don't be too quick to become another orbiter. Bonus points if you can get you and her together in a few insta/snap stories.

Of course, every woman's memory runs a bit different, especially after a long night, so she may or may not even remember.
