Where do you draw the line between being persistent and pushy?

In one of the AMAs, someone said they have a three strikes policy. I assume everyone has a different take on this, but I generally agree with this policy. That is, unless her excuses are lame. In which case, move on.

The worst that can happen is she actually just says no. If she's giving legitimate reasons for delaying go for it.

3 strikes and she's out. Plain and simple.

Also if she cancels don't follow up with an immediate counter date. Instead let it sit for a few days, then ping her again and set something up then.

I think it depends on the raincheck honestly -- there are legit ones and there are blow-off ones.

A legit raincheck usually (not always) has a follow-up attached to it:

i.e.

"Hey! Really sorry but I have to bail tonight - something came up. But I'd really like to see you so maybe next Tuesday instead?"

That's totally legit. If something comes up next Tuesday and she gives a follow-up like that, I let her get to 3 strikes.

BUT -- if it's obvious that she's just blowing you off, I drop my limit to 2 strikes.

"Sorry, got busy. Can't make it tonight."

No problem. I'll let her reschedule once. But if she gives something like that the second time, don't bother trying again - get the message and move on.

Wait until she says no or ignores indefinitely. Focus on other women in the process.
