That you somehow must be THE alpha of the group. This tends to make people act like douchebags and can burn a lot of bridges. I think it would be much more beneficial to be a dominant male instead of THE dominant male. Then you don't have to focus all of your attention on oneupmanship and instead focus on having a good time.

The neg stuff. Sure it works, and maybe if you have a cloying personality you need to tone down the eagerness, but people like to feel good. If you're not desperate, you'll naturally demonstrate value. Most people are already insecure enough without your help.

I think PUA is simply too complicated for its own good. You end up reading up on too many guides/strategies/whatever, but really all it takes is A) lots of approaches and B) confidence.

Develop some self-respect, get some confidence, start approaching girls, and you'll find success eventually. There's really no two ways around it.

The alpha thing should really be: "Know your own mind and follow it, don't be a pussy, and take on a dominant role in your interactions with girls".

Most PUA stuff seems to have a great deal of truth in it, the problem comes when people misapply the concepts. The only thing I'm really not sure about is the effectiveness of NLP.

The concept of 'alpha' is indeed a true rule of attraction, specifically more important to attractive women. You can be amoung a group of alpha males, and leadership shifts, the concept of alpha in this case relates more to your inner game.

IMO, canned openers, silly props, goofy peacocking, etc are all lame as shit.

Short answer all and none. Long answer: I've started with NLP and SS, and it has worked for me. Most people these days are totally skeptical of NLP. With good reason, there are better tools there now. I've learned one thing - technique doesnt matter. What matters is - what it does for you. If you cant run an NLP routine and be 100% congruent, it wont work unless the girl's into you already. But if she doesnt like you and you're 100% congruent and invested into your routine, you probably will turn it around. But it wont be the NLP its you. If you dont like the alpha thing - thats fine, there's a ton of girls that love non alphas, hate alphas, just got out of the relationships with alphas and want the opposite, are attracted to feminine, gay seeming straight guys - you name it... Just know what you're doing, do it deliberately (even if you're going with the awkward but lovable guy approach) and you'll be ok for most situations. However if you want the 9s, you need to be a chameleon and a very astute reader of the situation, and figure out what your target responds to and do that thing.

"Outer game", by using acronyms like "so anyway, I was DHVing a HB6 when all of a sudden some AMOG came and started Sarging her. So anyway I Kinoed the guy with in hope of some IOI. What a Set". Guess what guys? Humans are social creatures. This stuff should come naturally if you're confident and friendly. By emulating the effect of confidence rather than going straight to the cause of it, you're really doing yourself an injustice.
