Why does it seem like the guys you aren't attracted to always hit on you but the guys you'd actually want don't?

Here’s an idea! If you find a guy attractive, go and say hello to him.

We don’t read minds, if you’re not showing any signs then why would I approach you over hundreds of girls in the club or party?

Maybe the hot guys who you want to approach are getting approached by girls (and certainly getting a shit tonne of matches on tinder etc) so they don't need too approach

The non attractive guys never get approached or tinder matches, so they are forced to do the approaching and try their luck

It could be that the very act of approaching makes a guy sleazy. I don't think I've ever heard a woman say that she was randomly approached by a good/cool guy. If it happens, the story is that he's always some kind of weirdo or creep.

Then again, it's been proven that women find most men "below average" in attractiveness. Just look up tinder Sankey diagrams or that OkCupid attractiveness study. When you take those into account it kind of explains why if a guy approaches a woman, she's most likely not going to be interested at all.

Edit: I forgot to add that it would make WAY more sense if women did the approaching since they're so much more selective. I think harassment and #metoo cases would definitely see a decrease but we all know that will never happen because women are incapable of being straightforward when it comes to dating.

It's a grey area where the guys she's attracted to are out of her league and the guys that are attracted to her are out of her league

Guys don't complain about this cos men play a proactive role, we do the approaching so we so the selecting (of who we approach). As a guy why wouldn't you approach the most beautiful women. I've approached beautiful women I thought I didn't stand a chance only to find out, for lack of better words, that they ain't shit

Real life is not tinder, in real life, at any one venue she doesn't get to swipe right on the best males, they aren't lining up for her. As nature intended her sexual strategy is neutral, it's receptive.. so she waits for the right male. This is how it is played out many times in nature

Easy, because guys are stupid. 90% don't get the signals you're giving off to them. Most guys... and this subreddit is a prime example will just walk up to ANY GIRL they find attractive start hitting on her with the hopes of getting a number.

To me I don't think there's anything wrong with this. You don't know unless you ask, but there's small subtleties , IoI's, that 90% of guy miss. these are an invitation for you approach a girl rather than taking blind dumb luck.

I think attractive guys usually are either married, in a relationship, or already seeing a girl, or multiple girls. If she is seeing a girl already or even multiple girls, there isn't much reason for him to approach any girl.
