Wingwoman vs. wingman

Don't need a wingman/wingwoman to do the 100 approach mission, and you'll probably learn more if you don't.
A female wing will either introduce you, be a "base" for you to come back to, show social proof, show pre-selection. If the girl is attractive, there's also the issue of other guys trying to talk to her, when she's trying to be your wing. You may discover "feelings" for your wing when some dude talks to her. Or you may have to step in. Or your wing wants to ditch you and not help.
A male wing will talk you up, and also run interference with other girls/other guys you may encounter. For newbs, the wing's usual assistance comes after a failed approach. In the future, when you get good, you and your male wing can basically vibe off each other and really hook a group of people.

I do have a female friend who has already stated that she'd be willing to act as a wingwoman

This is an interesting discussion in and of itself.

Does a wingwoman put other women at ease, do they think it's weird, or what?

She can, or she can put girls off.

It really depends on how you are, who she is, how the two of you work together, the girl's impression of you, impression of her, whether the girl has friends.....

You get the picture. So many variables, that it's really hard to isolate what's happening in the situation.

A wingwoman indicates pre selection to a certain extent and the better looking / cooler she is the better. I’d bet though she’s got a crush on you. Bottom line just go for it and see how it plays and have a laugh in the process

Honestly I've been a wingwoman for a few of my friends over the years. One actually married the chick I helped him pick up at the bar. So if she's a laid back one like me it could work out pretty well for you. Though if she's a stuck up type or high energy might not work out so good. Since those tend to be annoying to deal with if you're another woman.

I can tell you that it could work.

I've done it and it's actually good as if you are with a female friend you will have an instant bonus as social proof.

Other girls feel more comfortable with you in this kind of situation and it's also a funny situation to try.

But of course, it has to be a friend of you, I suggest you ask maybe a girlfriend of one of your friends. You gotta be sure that there is no attraction between the two of you but you also need connection, otherwise, it would look kind of awkward, also cause as a man you shouldn't need a girl to the first approach. You should be able to do that and show at least that you have the guts.

The benefit is that she can suck your D when all women reject you to ease your pain. A wingman can do that too though...

Honestly, i'd recommend against a wingwoman. A big part of what makes a wing dynamic work as well as it does is the testosterone fueled bro-hype that only a bro can give you. Also, sometimes you need a bro to occupie her +1 while you work your magic. I'm not saying it's impossible to have that dynamic with a woman, but it is certainly unusual.

But if, as a beginner, she helps you get out of your comfort zone and actually make the first few approaches until you have enough of a grip on your approach anxiety to just approach alone. Then i guess it can't hurt.
