Topics of conversation!!! Approaching is easy (for me) but keeping a conversation alive is hard for me. I don't enjoy sports, pop music or watch that much tv, but I do have hobbies (guitar, restoring a car, learning salsa, cooking) but I feel like I'm unable to generate interest many times.

Once someone is interested or hooked, I'm usually okay, but this is my biggest sticking point.

How do I create/control a conversation a woman would like to have with me?

I feel like there's some humongous fact about the sexual economy I'm missing. How can so many men and women meet at random places, have sex, and, well, not give a fuck? Is there an implicit expectation just never to see each other again? What percentage of people engage in random hook ups and multiple relationships at some point? I don't think I could have sex with someone I wasn't sure actually cared about me on some level.

[16m] My oneitis is absolutely killing me right now. (I'm not going to go and ask her out tomorrow because that would just be kind of weird since we don't have much of a relationship, would be completely out of the blue and probably kill my chances) What can I do to ease it a bit? It's just getting really annoying at this point and even though it's gotten a bit better that it has been, I just want to do something that will put a smile on my face about it and either think, wow I could actually go through with this, or, yeah this isn't worth worrying about anyways...

I'm 18/M, senior in HS. There's a junior girl that sits behind me in Coll. Chem, she's 17 and has a "twin" brother that's the same age (they're minutes apart IIRC). I'm kind starting to like the girl a bit, but she never really shows any emotion at all. Should I do something over spring break 2 weeks from now?

Last weekend I went out to a club alone, as you do. I showed up early to secure a table - great way to force interaction, because I knew it would be packed soon and then people would have to approach me rather than the other way around. (I do approach as well, but nevermind that.)

As luck would have it, five girls showed up and sat down with me. Three of them very attractive. I had a good tone with one of them in particular. But later in the night, I ended up cockblocked by her friend, who asked me in the nicest, but firmest way possible to leave because she wanted her friend to stay with them all night. Fucking girls night out, boys.

Anyways. I understand that sometimes it's not possible to separate a group, they've decided to stay together all night and that's that. But any advice for similar situations in the future? I tried to engage the entire group and made sure to talk a little bit with everyone, but I can't be Mr. Entertainer Guy Life of the Party Dude.

I actually saw the girl again later that night and told her what happened. "Oh, really? Don't mind her, she's crazy," she said, but I didn't really know how to respond. Ended up telling her, "I just wanted to tell you I think you're really cute. Have a great night." She told me that was sweet and then she disappeared. Should maybe have tried to go for the kiss right there when she was separated from her friends. Nothing to lose, right.

when you're in high school, how do you talk to a girl you are interested in? The one class we have together we sit on opposite sides of the room, but she seems super cool.

where are good places to go that don't cost a fortune but you also don't drink? I have my own transportation, just not that much money since I only work during the summer.

On the subject of eye contact:

I posted a similar question last week but there's been some slight development. I've made it my goal to make eye contact and smile at more people when I'm walking around, more specifically girls I find attractive. I probably do this around 15-20 times a day going between classes.

And in 99% of those cases the following happens: They A) Immediately look away, down at their phone, whatever, B) Veer off course so they aren't passing me as close, or C) Make a face like they just stepped in dog crap. Sometimes a combination of all three. Something like this has happened on multiple occasions every day for the past week.

And because people will ask...

-I'm not encroaching on their personal space

-I wait until we're about 7-10 feet apart before doing so

-Not grinning like a madman, just a casual smile.

At this point the only logical explanation is that I'm fuck-ugly, or they apparently think I'm a serial killer. I've been dressing better, got a good haircut, but obviously that didn't help. What's going on?

During cold approaches with day game, what would the success rate be of using a simple line such as "Hey can I ask you a question? You're really cute. Can I have your phone number?"

The target audience would be 18-23 on a college campus. Thoughts/advice?

(17 year old here.) There is a girl I used to be good friends with in high school, but I drifted apart with her over the last 2 years. I just recently found out that I catch the train with her 2 days a week now. How can I escalate things with her? I have no experience with dating at all.

So me and this girl were texting back and forth (very little time between responses.) I have this problem with my phone where sometimes it doesn't get text messages for a couple hours. Now, I know that this was one of those times because I was texting another friend as well and got no response, then asked him on Facebook about it and he said he responded. So, I asked her when she was available and didn't get a response. But should I even bother saying something about it? As of right now I'm sure it looks like I'm ignoring her response... Which is just weird. Don't want to ruin this one though so whats up? Need a smooth way to say I might have missed a response without sounding like I'm pushing for one in case she hasn't responded yet lol
