So it looks like we both had the same idea at the same time (go figure). I was all set to file paperwork on Friday, but my stbxw emailed this morning saying that it was being filed this morning.

NGL, it felt like the air was sucked out of the room for like 5 minutes the email was exactly what everyone says it should be factual and a bit cold. Once the initial hit went away, it was actually a huge relief and I text her to confirm she knew which law firm to send things to and I responded to her email with a few personal requests (taking down a few episodes on her YT channel and inviting her to come with me to get our tattoos removed - these things were already in the email I drafted 2 days ago). She agreed to both.

It went surprisingly well...no drama, no unnecessary feelings. She did have one text that read "I will always love you ... who ever you end up with is super lucky" which felt like a trap😂... I left it alone (That took some effort on my part!). I've come to the conclusion that I should quietly count my blessings and there is no need to address (any further) my grievances with her unfaithful, dishonest, irresponsible, unhealthy behavior as a wife. I got nothing great to say, so I will say nothing. Not getting into any of that felt almost Zen-like 20 minutes after the fact.

Truth is...The people in this sub have done a better job listening and responding to the things I've shared than she ever did.

It feels like things are progressing so quickly, but they aren't. She moved out mid-December 2024...so it has been a long time since we were really anything to each other (at least on my side - its probably been like 2 years for her 😅).

Long story short, were like 45 days max out from this thing being tied up and 2026 will undoubtedly be something better!

I wish I had listed to all of the advice in this sub sooner, and hopefully there won't be a next time, but if there is...I know what to do and when to do it!
