Head’s clearing and starting to accept reality on my recent separation. Quick recap of situation - she announced divorce in November but lived in the house until April. Moved into trailer on property in April. Started seeing someone 3 weeks ago. It’s been rough but I’m starting to see reality.

Anyway. My question I’m trying to figure out, and it’s not so straightforward. During separation did anyone else pay any of their exes living expenses?

Specifically more like their apartment, etc. My complication comes that she is disabled and has no income. She’s also a student so she’s unable to work. The reason for the move, is that the jurisdiction we live in has found the living situation with the trailer to be in violation of local codes so it needs to be moved and dealt with.

This is where I’m trying to figure out if I should offer to pay her lot fees. I’m obviously not required to since we’re still technically married not divorced as we haven’t filed yet. We don’t plan on filing immediately. This also allows her to remain on my health insurance at a not so insignificant cost. So many complications. It would really stretch my finances to do this.

A trailer park is likely the cheapest option but an obvious hit. I’d love any input if anyone is done this without any requirement to do so.
