Combat the hopelessness feeling?

At my lowest, I tell myself it is okay and it is okay to feel this way. One of the things that helps me is reassuring myself, reminding myself that in order for growth to happen it won't be a continuous straight line but sometimes there will be down moments, but it doesn't mean I won't be stronger because of them, or that my progress won't increase. I also consider if something triggered me, if I need a break, or if its about that time. Its hard sometimes, but I have come to accept that I will have those difficult times.

I’m feeling the exact same way and have actually been wanting to post something but for some reason was hesitant. I’m glad you did. I don’t have an answer since I’m feeling the same way about society, the patriarchy and how it is for women. I’m also dealing with strange feelings regarding a recent break up, and the combo leaves me feeling hopeless.

I had this feeling just yesterday. Today I read the handbook after a while, like 6 months or so. It instantly reminded me of my past self, of all the progress I made in last half year. I noticed the difference between past me and present me. This was when I recogniced what was going on. I leveled up so fast in a short amount of time yet forgot to keep track of the progress amd thetefore didn't felt the acomplishment - just the exhaustion. And I also noticed that I kept a toxic person in my life just because she was a woman. This woman acted like a LVM towards me because she underestimated my standards. Past pickme self would have fallen for the gaslighting, present me became indifferent and now I know why. I ended the contact and - whoosh - every negative feeling is gone now. I felt like crap because I didn't live up to my new standards, thus betrayed myself. Give it a try, read the handbook in multiple states of your level up journey. You'll begin to understand what you couldn't before because leveling up takes time.

Edit: TL;DR: I felt this cognitive disonance until I realized I let a LVW (with interalized misogyny) into my life which conflicted with my standards.

For me, I choose to call my best friends, my sisters for support when I am low. I also recognize that my best is a flexible state, so I do what I can depending upon my mental state and energy level. Sometimes all I can do is make sure that I am hydrated, eat enough protein and dump myself into a bath. I usually feel a whole world better when I get out of that bath and I feel ready to conquer more than I did before.

The biggest thing is having kindness towards yourself when you are in a low point. We are trained so strongly to constantly give and give of ourselves, when really we need to be putting energy into our own well-being and know when to step back and allow your friends to be able to help you with whatever burden you are carrying.

I’m actually going through the same thing right now. I’ve cried a lot the past few days and made it 1000% worse by going through the true crime subreddit and reading all the stories of women/girls being brutalized and murdered.

I surround myself by strong women and individually I feel like I’m making a difference for these women in my circle and in myself.

I deleted my Instagram and TikTok for a bit to help my mental health because nearly every comment is sexist and misogynistic. I don’t go on the main page of Reddit if possible because it’s 10x worse there.
