It is an issue of the empathy gap. People don't care about men and care very much about women. So bad things that happen to men are ignored, while bad things that happen to women are inflated. This cognitive bias affects all areas of life.

I used to have what I recognised as 'memories of sexual abuse' by an older women. It took me a long time to confide in another person and I ended up going to a female psychologist with this older guy who is distantly related to me as support. She was supportive as well and helped. But, I did not have as much of luck with telling my mother about my suspicions. I only found like one (academicly sound) book on the topic that is digestable for most lay people as well and one movie with this theme: 'Perks of being a Wallflower'. It is hugely understudied as area. Generally the lack of even literature and books on this topic was saddening me into the abyss back when.

The real rape culture....

Men are not allowed to feel as though they were raped, even if they were and should feel as though they were raped.

Yeah, all the MeToo and Title IX stuff and my experience with it showed me that a lot of the supposed sympathy toward people on the spectrum or with social/cultural challenges and differences goes away when it’s guys who want to have sexual experiences.

We’re seen as creeps and weirdos because we’re not confident or comfortable with ourselves or don’t understand things, whereas some kind of stereotypical guy will have it so easy and will do the same stuff and not be seen that way

I also have asperger's and suffered abuse. In the law of my country r*pe is only aknowleged when the victim is female.
