For those that don’t know, Ellen Pence was an American activist who passed away in 2012 (r.i.p). She wrote the diagram for what different types of abuse looks like. Aka the Duluth model. This model was a great starting point for understanding what abuse looks like whether it be physical, mental, sexual, etc.
The problem with the model was that it deliberately excluding male victims from the equation. Some of this motto is still being used today. Streamers like Destiny even mentioned it happening to him. Ellen later admitted that her research was biased against men right before she passed away. So my question is this, how come no mention of her? I’m sure at least a few people have but it’s certainly not common. You’d think they’d at least omit her bias of men and mention that she was one of the pioneers of deciphering abuse. Idk. Has anyone ever seen her mentioned anywhere? What are your thoughts?
