In the manosphere, men will whip themselves up into frenzies over 'hypergamy' and 'female manipulation', but what negative consequences will this behaviour, if it exists, actually cause at the ground level?
Most studies I've seen suggest that women and men mate 'assortively', and that hypergamy has been reducing. Yet other studies show that women prioritise income as the most important thing, that male sexlessness has reached unprecedented levels, and that working class men are twice as likely to be single. Japan seems to be a special case, where men and women are equally sexless (although Japanese women still seem to refuse to date down).
Is this dangerous? Will we see young men join violent, radical movements that promise them glory? Will young women date down out of desperation, or will rich men take advantage and hoard women à la medieval conquerors? Or perhaps men will simply check out of society and resort to a life of porn, video games, and menial work?
What can be done to ameliorate this behaviour? It might be instructive to look at hunter-gatherers. For 99% of human history, this sort of behaviour was kept under wraps. Why? Hunter-gatherers are universally egalitarian, and alpha male behaviour was seen as socially deviant. All resources are shared equally among the group regardless of who performs what role.
The above is why female mate choice is vastly different in hunter gatherer societies. Where 'civilized' Western women demand height, wealth and power as prerequisites, 'primitive' women focus on things like looks and personality.
I realize I haven't expanded on my points too much, but I wanna keep this post as short as possible.

I've seen some left wing groups claim that the rise of sexless men will lead to totalitarian governments, as beaten down men join radical, ISIS-like movements to strike back against a society that has abandoned them. How likely that is to happen, I don't know.
Yeah, we see that with mean bearing the brunt of stress related illnesses and a lower life expectancy. Men are expected to be workhorses who provide resources for women in exchange for sex, and any man who rejects this 'deal' is seen as a loser and finds himself single.
