Joking aside, I read the article. The evidence was.... women pay less insurance and take longer to get their license... backed up by more men go to court for traffic infractions. Ignore that men are more likely to buy a more expensive car, meaning it costs more to insure. Also ignore that the legal system is also less likely to penalize women for breaking the law. When you ignore that the article is believable.

I've always intrepreted these so called studies that women just are less likely to partake in risky behaviour like speeding, racing, etc. Especially when younger. Didn't consider what other poster said about women more likely to get off with a warning. That doesn't mean guys are worse drivers. Imo while women out themselves on average at less risk in the road they struggle way more with basic tasks behind the wheel.

Seems to me I'd read that the male teenage and early twenties drivers take more risks and are therefore not as 'good' from an insurance standpoint. However, the gal drivers get left in the dust after 25 or so as the males are better drivers.

Women are safer drivers because they don’t take as many unnecessary risks. That doesn’t make them better drivers however. A man could probably navigate difficult terrain, precipitation, or other difficult conditions much more easily than a woman. Taking risks also makes men get from point a to point b faster and more efficiently if speed is of the essence.

I disagree. I have never met a woman who is a more capable driver than me. I drove my first car at 12 and worked on a farm for 5 years driving tractors and trucks. Every time I drove in reverse (I had a 50 ft driveway) every single girl I was driving would be impressed with my skills 😂. But I was definitely reckless as fuck as a young driver. Definitely had a higher risk of accidents and the like ...

Even the old statistics were skewed for this. Men drive more miles and have more accidents, but per mile driven, women had more accidents.
