For me, MGTOW is very much an individual philosophy (hence the phrase Men Going Their Own Way). I've held that philosophy pretty much my whole life. I was 8 years old when I started telling people I didn't plan to marry or have children, but in truth I've never felt any differently. It's not because I was scared of women (or girls at that age), it's not because I am or have ever been a misogynist. I just always preferred to do my own thing. Even in the schoolyard, if the other kids were playing a game I didn't like, I wouldn't participate.

Now don't get me wrong, I don't hate women. In fact, I love women. I love spending time with women - under the right circumstances (even if experience has taught me that sex is overrated). I'd be quite content to have a relationship with a woman - but it would be a relationship on my terms, not society's. Virtually every woman I meet seems to want that blue collar middle class lifestyle where they marry Mr Average who goes to his boring job with his lunch box and comes home to his 2.3 kids reliably at the same time. I don't resent or blame women for choosing that life - it's just not for me. Again, no resentment - Heck I'll even send them a postcard from my next overseas trip if they like.

Even within men who are going their own way, you'll find different opinions on certain things. Some MGTOW refuse any and all interaction with women (I've even heard of guys refusing to be served by female cashiers at the supermarket). At the other extreme, I've heard of MGTOW who are in relationships or marriages. Personally I'm somewhere in the middle - but for my own reasons. I don't believe all or even a majority of women will screw men out of their life savings or destroy a man's freedom with a false rape accusation. But the truth is, I'm so busy living my life that I never seem to get into a position where that will be a problem for me.

I realise this waffle probably hasn't answered very many of your questions. I guess what I'm trying to say is that we're a "broad church" so to speak (I'm an atheist btw), with many different viewpoints and reasons for going our own way.

Just wondering because there is 0 reason to be here unless you took a red pill. Red pills are taken when life hits you hard and you are forced to wake up and push the programming to the side. Hi OP, Well thank you for coming to MGTOW for the sake of discussion. I am doubtful you will find a sympathetic ear here as most men who come here are walking the path of MGTOW already and with your situation, you are basically something that men who frequent this sub and subscribe to this philosophy will actively avoid, or have harsh words for.

That said, please feel free to ask your questions about MGTOW, and I have no doubt that you will find answers that will meet your needs for edification about the philosophy and life path that MGTOW has for a man.

Generalizations about women exist, and those generalizations are amplified and with good reason, but I would ask you to approach these with an open mind when you see them and apply the filter of "is this guy talking about his first hand experience?" because here many are, and this is where experience shared among men, even generalizations, has value and is not discounted.

So. What questions do you have?

First Off, I read the first sentence of OP's post.

I want to make it very clear that yes, this is a space for men and the open discussion of MGTOW and promotion of it as a healthy philosophy for men.

Women are NOT immune from criticism here. But this sub DOES require that even if someone comes in saying they are not part of our primary demographic, that basic respect you'd give to someone at the store or gas station does apply so long as no obvious trolling, preaching, or being abusive in mgtow1 style will get your comment removed or the thread locked, with a quickness.

You will also take note of a distinct lack of bans for disagreement, but well-intentioned admonishments should the need arise.

that said, please discuss and interact.

Welcome. I don't expect this sub to give you much hate. Most of the guys here just want to live their own lives in peace. Plus, all the negativity of the original mgtow sub caused the creation of this one.

I don’t know if I consider myself full fledge Mgtow probably mostly because I am married and happy. Ive talked about mgtow with her and she couldn’t agree more with the mgtow movement.

Too many men get screwed over because of women and I’m not saying all women are bad but I just think it’s wiser to just stay away from them. I’m 23 now and got married just a few weeks after my 19th birthday and knew nothing of mgtow, if I didn’t I probably would not have gotten married. I know there are still other good women out there it’s just too damn risky to even try

I enjoy the company of women at times, I like being with them i even have sex with a few that I rotate in and out, but at the end of the day I go home and do nothing with a woman that would legally tie me to her. Been there done that. I cook, clean and take care of my own shit, I don't need help especially from a person that is always believed and the system totally favors. I'm all good. I don't hate women quite the opposite really, I hate the system that is completely stacked against me.

MGTOW, at its core, is a philosophy not a practice or a movement. "Introducing your husband to it" makes you sound a little protective as if this content is "wife approved" and you're allowing him to think such thoughts. Tread carefully there. r/MGTOW, however, is (now) a poor application of the philosophy - it's a long, ineffective rant. r/MGTOW2 is an attempt to return to the core and talk about what it means for a man to find his own place in the current cultural selections around the planet, or create his own. r/MgtowLifestyle highlights men who actually get out into the world, instead of just talking about it.

Some men are perfectly comfortable remaining in the culture they grew up in, but I think that's becoming a minority. I was raised conservative and Catholic, but now live somewhat...distant...from that view point. Most men (I'm generalizing) want to personalize why they exist, create a set of values to live by, and DO things that express those values. The main purpose of culture is conformity, not independence - church, community, school, sports, employers, state & national patriotism, etc. That's what he's up against.

If you engage your husband in this space, be prepared for some mature and challenging topics. Simply put, it's not safe. Many of the ideas involve sweeping generalizations and plenty of "...but not all people are like that." As those exceptions pile up, conversations get vague, then start to sound untrusting of and from your partner. That's exactly when you need to keep the most open mind.

There is no right answer. It's a continuous discussion. If you play around with ideas, especially ones focused on male choices and freedoms, be sure not to take them personally. You're asking him to be more vulnerable than ever in an area where he has few skills developed.
