Hello, I come here for advice, hoping this is the right place to do so and if not I'd be very thankful to be redirected.

I (F20) want help or advice to how to help my bf (M20) dealing with depression.

So I realized you (men) don't get really taught how to show feelings not how to ask for help and support when needed. Same way we (woman) don't get taught how we can help you out with your emotions. (And in general anything that we get taught about how we should treat and "help" each other is pretty wrong).

I honestly refuse to let him shut me out, cause I know he's not ok and I want to help. Thing is I don't know how to, and I find completely unfair that he helps me out and I don't.

I understand how it's hard for guys to open up about feelings and that in most cases you shut everything down to a point where all you know is you're feeling down but not identify the emotions inside it. And I see as a major gain the fact that I've been let in to see that emotion.

I'm sorry if it's too long or it's not written in the best way... Please I just want to help and I'd really really appreciate any advice you have.
