To be fair it did show he was disturbed by it, and the entire movie and all the characters were insane.

The man protested the entire time, but she just kept going. They stayed friends and the guy fucking cried when she got half her face blown off.

That's actually better than a lot of male rape on film. More typically if the man gets raped then he has to apologise and beg forgiveness from his romantic interest for "cheating" on her.

This is actually one of my favorite movies because it's so gritty and doesn't have your standard happy ending. I'm glad you raise the question, but I would counter it with this question: was there any real protest about either rape scene to begin with? (spoiler alert) The film didn't completely gloss over the man being raped, as he promptly went to the toilet and vomited, but then the plot picked back up right away and the viewers are whisked away to the next chapter. Every major character in the story suffered severe trauma of some sort, some more 'deserving' than others. The relationship between Frank and Libby is more complicated than a mere female friend raped her male friend, despite what she did to him she was still a rare find in that she was trusted with a solemn secret (his identity) and she also supported his cause. Frank was also much more concerned that other innocents receive protection than himself, so I don't think it's too far fetched that his character would overlook being raped.

I watched this movie with my brother and he commented that Frank didn't really put up much of a fight. It's true, and Frank is much stronger physically than Libby. This by no means justifies the deed, but it can make one wonder how much of an inner struggle Frank had about intercourse with Libby. Comparatively there was no such inner struggle when the large black man tried to rape Sarah.

Whilst I'm in complete agreement with your argument, it's probably portrayed that way because of the physical violence involved, the guy getting raped could probably have physically stopped it but didn't, where as the woman I'm guessing was raped under restraint and in a violent situation (I have not watched the film, I am only surmising). Nevertheless rape is rape and regardless of extra physical violence or gender it is still wrong. Sadly though there are studies that suggest that rape victims especially males who are raped by females have a harder time internalising it as rape, probably because of the conflicting 'gender roles', thus why in a real life situation the guy may have continued to be his rapists friend too. Sad but true.

Come to think of it, my ex-girlfriend got exceedingly drunk one time at a bar and basically forced me to let her suck me off in the bathroom. For 10 seconds. She argued me down from fucking, to sucking me off to completion, to five minutes, to one minute, to 30s, and then finally 10s. I could not deter her from this. It was absurd.

Eventually the people who promote this kind of stupidity will be called to task for it, just as generations of Germans have, and the South has. At some point, the hypocrisy will get so thick and the immorality of the proposition so apparent that any attempt to maintain the status quo will be seen as draconian and regressive.

I wish that day was now. But it isn't.

So these people rape men and then cry about how privileged the victim is, they aren't fooling anyone. They are terrible, terrible human beings and nothing they say or do can undo how terrible they are.

Eventually they won't have their insipid 'get out of jail' card and they will pay.

I didn't see super, but I found girl with the dragon tattoo offensive because her response to being extorted for sexual favours (blowjob) by a social worker, is to then pretend to consent to a sexual encounter, so that she can videotape her assraping him, tattoing rapist on him, and then control his future sexuality.

While I recognize that extorting a blowjob, isn't nice behaviour, its a lot closer to extorting $100 than what he got. There is an over-reaction to mistreatment with a sexual component to it, that seems to justify any psychotic rage women feel over it. My women friends seemed to think it was an appropriate "you go girl" response.
