  1. The men's rights movement is just a collection of people who are tired of being taken advantage of, taken for granted, and lied to. Millions of people who have independently come to the same conclusions, usually the hard way. We recognize the right of females to be treated equally, but we fight for the right of males to be treated equally. This is not a feminist subreddit. It was created in opposition to feminism.

Ultimately specific portions of "mens's rights" and specific portions of "women's rights" will bump up against each other, and where they do, it will likely be in some area where things are not 50/50 but more like 48/52 in favor of one gender or the other. I'm obviously using astractions and arbitrary numbers to skip to the point:

A feminist, seeing that she's only getting for 48% of her fair share of some arbitrary pie would properly fight for that extra 2%. Feminists are right to fight for areas where they are being shortchanged by 5%, .001%, or 20%.

The thing is, however, that in many areas men are being shortchanged and are also right to fight for their share. Feminism, when called "Equality for women" does not allow for this possibility.

We take note, and argue against, the wide disparities in the funding given to women's vs. men's health charities, women's vs. men's domestic violence protections, women's vs. men's auto insurance rates, women's vs. men's college tuition assistance programs, women's vs. men's business grants, and other areas.

What's with the "earning scorn from feminists" bit? March 19 was the creation date, and we've found plenty of misandry and deceit in the less extreme common feminist lines.

I, personally, am thrilled about the Wagner College 'male studies' initiative. This is a 2 hour introductory presentation, worth the time, imo.
