I’m a feminist, I’m a man, I agree with a lot of things on here (equal/appropriate custody laws, men being able to show feelings and men’s borderline erasure as rape victims) the only thing I find hard to grasp here is that this is just a feminist group for men, what I mean by that is that there’s a difference between extreme feminism and feminism. Extreme feminism is not something I stand by, because it only focuses on women, feminism is for equality, I get that it’s not called equalism and maybe it should be, but what people forget is that the name stems from when this was a women’s battle and I think that erasing that name and the history behind it is technically the same as changing the lyrics of a national anthem. I would like to bring something up, the international men’s day. The international men’s day occurs on the nineteenth of November and I quite frankly think it’s a missed opportunity, whilst we could be talking about things to make better we instead talk about men throughout history (???). We should all be talking about toxic masculinity and gender norms that force men to ”man up” and tear down at our self worth, we should be talking about the fact that the most common cause of death for men between 15 and 35 is suicide, we should be talking about how men’s feelings are so trapped that according to many violent criminals they did what they did because no one took their feelings seriously just because they where men, we should be talking about how children are ending up with abusive mothers just because they’re mothers, this list could go on and on but instead of actively trying to solve all of these problems we choose to talk about men throughout history, something that there’s plenty of time for year fucking round. I hope that I’ve made my points clear, if you have any questions I’ll try to answer comments, good night.
