It isn't.

It's about getting special privileges for women. Thus, anything that works towards equal rights is actually counter to their goals.

It's pure projection. Any feminist who claims that is full of hatred herself. The idea that an entire class of people (almost half the world's population) has no right to protect its rights is pure bigotry. I've seen feminists compare men's rights to the KKK or to neo Nazis, which is an absurd comparison.

A father wants diaper (nappy) changing stations in public restrooms -- it couldn't be that he's trying to be a good father; he must be a misogynist. The absurdity is astounding.

There's a prominent feminist user on reddit (I won't name names, not looking to start a hate brigade) who is fond of saying that mensrights is about hating women, instead of discussing solutions.

The thing is, many of our solutions are so simple that I don't know how much conversation we could have. Men's access to shelters? Open up some of the 1000's of existing shelters to men and even out the funding. Circumcision? Ban it. False accusations? Due process. Draft? Gender neutral or ban it. DV counseling coverage? Extend it to men. Rape definition? Include female-on-male rape. Custody? Shared by default.

It's not rocket science. It's just that it we don't waste our time agreeing on this week's definition of patriarchy, then talking about dismantling it, then trying to articulate what the hell that even means, then defining a bunch of gendered pseudo-academic catch-all terms, then vaguely telling the other gender "be better" based on constantly-changing nuance, then absolving ourselves of all responsibility for our feelings and boundaries.

"This is unequal, make it equal," works in most cases for us, no dissertation required.

The problem is that 'Feminism' is not a protected term. By law I cannot call myself a doctor or a lawyer unless I have the correct qualifications, but any misandrist can label themselves as a feminist and there is nobody to stop them. There are a lot of hateful, anti-male, political activists out there who disguise themself with the facade of feminism. We would be wise to judge them by their works and call them what they are rather than using the dishonest label they give themselves. 'True' feminists would also do well to distance themselves from these people and call them out for their hypocritical inequality.

TL:DR - If they work for equality, call them a feminist. If they do not, then call them what they really are.

The thing is, rights for men and woman were different back then and in balance. Men had more rights, but more responsibility. They had to go in the military and manage property tax woman didn't, but they also could not own property and could not vote. The oldest man also was responsible for any crime committed by the household. Now, woman have more rights and less responsibility. They can have a child and legally a man is forced to pay for the child if the woman wants to not pay. Now, apparently men are bad people and never the victim according to society. Feminism never considered that there is a line between equal rights and oppression.

There are assholes here too but usualy radicals get called out. And not supported. There was a guy who commented on my post some realy weird shit about women having no use in the world other than giving birth, and he got called out. If you comment that men has no use in the world other than giving their semen, you get supported (I mean in feminist places and stuff)

They don't really think it is misogynistic. It's almost a defense mechanism. They get to immediately end the conversation and ignore the valid points you've made. Furthermore, they create a stigma that strongly discourages anyone from joining these subs, or even "sounding" like an "MRA".

I've gotten a sad amount of abuse and hatred from people who notice my comment history. They only check it, because I'm arguing against their narrative, and they want to try to hurt me by declaring me as subhuman.

It always affected me at first, but I've seen what kind of people those who react like that are, and they're not nice people. Their ignorance or hate doesn't define me.

I saw someone saying r/Mensrights was similar to r/TheRedPill, and I explained that as someone who frequents r/mensrights, they are completely unrelated subs. One is about male issues, discrimination, and criticism of feminism (while still being pro women and pro equality). The other is about pick up artistry and getting women to sleep with you. It's also quarantined (I had assumed it was banned by now, but apparently it's still ticking), while this sub is not. Aside from that, I had no idea of the type of content they post on r/TheRedPill because I had no reason or desire to visit it.

They read the first line of my comment, and dismissed the rest without reading it, because me posting here was "all they needed to know".
