It’s not clear to me she’s getting off any easier than a man would. I think posting bail is probably appropriate. She’s probably not a huge flight risk for this alleged crime. Also, the article doesn’t go into much detail about specifically what was found on her computer. The devil is in the detail as they say.

Only time will tell what the specifics are and what if any criminal punishment she ends up facing.

So interestingly, I read in the article that the woman was released on a $2,000 unsecured bond.

What this means is that she didn't actually have to pony up with $2k or even put a downpayment with a bail bondsman for it, she just had to essentially promise to show up in court, or she would THEN have to pay the $2k.

The reason this stood out to me is that just this past weekend, a friend of mine made a bad decision and drove drunk and was arrested for DUI. This guy was held on a $3300 SECURED bond. That meant that in order for him to get bailed out of jail and not have to sit inthere until his trial date in a month, he had to put up $3300 (or contact a bail bondsman and essentially take out a loan from that bail bondsman after putting up 15% of the bail money himself) in order to be released, pending trial.

For a man arrested for DUI... $3300 SECURED BOND

Woman arrested for child pornography $2000 UNSECURED BOND

Pussy pass indeed.

I know I am late to this and no one will probably see but I talked to this chick on like Tinder or Bumble when I was in college and she was clearly nuts. 3 years ago I had an intern who was still in college and he started talking about this teacher he used to bang in high school. Obviously I said he needed to show us all the chick. It was this chick!

Child pornography shouldn’t be illegal. It’s protected by first amendment.

Only problem I have is that men are punished for it.
