Can someone even explain and define "objectification"?

So women decide on a guy's attractiveness based on his whole looks, while men can find certain body parts of women attractive?

I am not really understanding the conclusion at all. Objectify is a pretty loaded but useless word.

The methodology is pretty standard for this type of brain mapping.

I don't care much for this field of research, because statistical significance in activation of certain areas of the brain really doesn't imply psychological significance in the way that one needs to make a claim like "objectifying is done by the brain in a certain way."

It would be much more meaningful to say that women are viewed as the sum of their parts and men are viewed in one holistic appraisal, but those aren't buzz words that popular science writers can use to get clicks and hits.

Men as whole?: handsome, physically strong, status, money, manipulable, sexually useful, protector, sperm container. These are not "body parts," but they are "parts" nonetheless. Yes, men and women are different, but shallow women who see men as a collection of utility parts is no better than shallow men seeing women as body parts.

Social science is a field populated by leftists (98%) who do not understand sound method and statistics and who create bogus studies which confirm their ideological prejudices.

Firstly, we know that (people) showing more skin evokes greater empathy from other. Ergo, the body does give us humanity, shocker...

Also, what is the context. I'd wager that fry cooks are seen as "whole" and that it doesn't really have anything to do with "humanity".

i personally believe that everyone sees others differently and is not based on gender how they do it, i believe it is about how they were raised to see others.
