Woman Who Recorded Herself Raping 1-Year-Old Son Will Not Go To Jail; will serve 8 months of house arrest instead

Statistics on race and gender in the U.S. justice system. Men receive longer sentences than women for the same crime, are more likely to be stopped and searched, more likely to be victims of police brutality, and face many other inequalities.

Reposting these stats on race/gender in the justice system in light of Hillary's recent sexist statement about criminal justice reform. She thinks we have too many women in prison and that women aren't being treated fairly; calls for more lenient sentencing for women

So now that women are facing a small portion of what men face it is finally a problem?

[–]tsingi29 points 10 years ago* [recovered] (3 children) | Copy Link

63% of jail time for the same crime. Last I looked.

Wrong, men get 63% longer sentences. (thanks /u/HotSauciness)

I love the intro, a woman was wrongly jailed. Of course this never happens to men but we should conclude that all women are wrongly jailed.

[–]Zoesan 7 points8 points9 points 10 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

That's so much worse.

Eh, 63% versus 58%

pedantry over

[–][deleted] 3 points4 points5 points 10 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Yeah, I used the numbers somewhere else and it didn't turn out to be much of a difference.

You're right.

[–]TibsChris 2 points3 points4 points 10 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

59% when you round

The pedantriarchy is real

And third, we need to be deliberate about understanding the different paths that can land women in prison, be more attentive to women's unique needs while they are incarcerated, and do more to support women and their families once they are released.

Wow. Just wow. I'd be believable if this was some femenist leader who doesn't care, but are you fucking joking me HRC? REALLY?

because women follow different paths to crime than men, and face different risks and challenges both inside and outside the prison walls, and every part of the justice system, from sentencing to the conditions of confinement to re-entry services, should reflect women's unique needs.

You've now turned a non-voter, into a trump supporter.

And too often, a woman and her children continue to live with the consequences even after she has served her time and paid her debt to society. Because formerly incarcerated people face limited job opportunities, an entire family is effectively punished by a woman's time in prison.

Here she admits men(as boys) may face the same harshness but only because their mother suffered and when children of women (not men apparently) are seperated from their mothers they are more risk to going to jail, but she doesnt care about the boys after they turn to men.

YEAH SORRY HRC, MEN ARE MUCH MORE PRESSED AGAINST FOR THEIR PAST THAN WOMEN.

This article pisses me off so much, fuck you for sharing it op, but thanks.

For the sake of your outrage, this has been going on for a long, long time with this horrible excuse for a human. In 1998 she gave a speech that included the following:

Women have always been the primary victims of war. Women lose their husbands, their fathers, their sons in combat.

Never mind all of the men who go and kill and die and get maimed and mentally broken as a result of war. They don't matter.

[–][deleted] 12 points13 points14 points 10 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

You haven't been paying attention, men don't matter period.

But yes, this is particularly hypocritical.

[–]callsyourcatugly 9 points10 points11 points 10 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

You've now turned a non-voter, into a trump supporter.

My sentiments exactly. Not that it matters as I'm not American, but if I were, and hillary got the nomination, I would without question support Trump over her.

[–]ferizzi726 20 points21 points22 points 10 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Welcome to the Trump train. You won't get tired of winning

She wants to end racism in our justice system, but keep the sexism? Here are some stats on gender and prison. If anybody wants to know why a lot of Bernie Bros refuse to vote for Hillary, this is why

[–][deleted] 12 points13 points14 points 10 years ago* (9 children) | Copy Link

One reason I would never vote for her is because when she said that the real ones who suffer with war are the mothers who lose their sons.

In her mind it is completely trivial that the sons lose their lives and the fathers lose their sons. The bitch is a fucking idiot and seriously if I was face to face with her I would bitch slap her to Neptune. I would not give a shit how long I went to prison for.

[–][deleted] -2 points-1 points0 points 10 years ago (8 children) | Copy Link

Guess what, nobody cares because your a fucking flap face canuck

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 10 years ago (7 children) | Copy Link

Not sure what a flap face is. I Googled it and nothing came up. Is that some sort of American insult I have yet to hear?

[–][deleted] -2 points-1 points0 points 10 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link

Its what Canadians have instead of a fucking normal face. Like Terence and Philip. A big flap where you deposit doritos and mountain dew and cum

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 10 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

Ah I see. Did not think I was that bad looking :/

[–][deleted] 24 points25 points26 points 10 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Please don't use the term Bernie Bros.

[–]HotSauciness[S] 10 points11 points12 points 10 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

lol, I like it to remind people how sexist HRC's supporters are

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points4 points 10 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I commented on this article on the Clinton sub, just pointed out how stupid it was and my comment was deleted for trolling.

[–]errv 11 points12 points13 points 10 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Did anyone notice that none of those numbers add up?

It said she met this guy at 20, got pregnant at 15 and served 12 years. But then it goes on to say she didn't see her kids for 17 years and that when she got arrested her kids were 10 and 2.

[–]Lord_ThunderCunt 16 points17 points18 points 10 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Well, Hillary is a liar, so, there is that.

[–][deleted] 9 points10 points11 points 10 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

The sexism train never ends.

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points4 points 10 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Oh it will end. Not any time soon though.

[–]nrjk 6 points7 points8 points 10 years ago* (1 child) | Copy Link

This is a broader example of how many women get caught in the details. A teeny tiny problem is overlooked while the biggest glaring issue continues on.

Sure, in this example there's the sex card on that men far outweigh female prisoners. However, let's remove that and look at the gun issue: all the attention is given to assault rifles and mass shootings.

However, suicide (mostly by white males) is the largest cause of gun deaths followed buy gangs and street crime. Mass shootings with "assault" rifles are account for a fraction of 1% of gun deaths.

When people talk about a "feminized society", I don't think about whiny men and helicopter parents, I think of a national dialogue that lacks any cohesion to solve an actual big issue of merit rather than toiling on small inconsequential shit all the time. This why women usually make good secretaries and men better CEOs. Women are better at details and the fine tuning aspects while men layout larger, broader visions.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 10 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

You are focused on what they are saying, picking at minor details. The details are just a justification for their actions, they don't actually matter. That's why statistics will continue to be used years after they've been debunked.

[–]toybrandon 0 points1 point2 points 10 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

This right here is why people hate that BITCH. Fuck all of you HRC shills and ignorant supporters. She is a cunt.

[–]morrispated2-2 points 10 years ago [recovered] (3 children) | Copy Link

The only reason why there is even a minuscule chance that I will vote for her still is that if trump wins obamacare will be erased almost immediately. HRC is a doublethink Orwellian nightmare.

[–]HotSauciness[S] 4 points5 points6 points 10 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

He used to support universal healthcare and has said he won't let people with pre-existing conditions go uninsured. I think he'll move left on healthcare as the election goes on

[–]Schrodingersdawg 4 points5 points6 points 10 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

So you'd rather have Hitler than no obamacare?

Don't get me wrong, I was for obamacare, and still am for large parts of it. But HRC is far worse than losing obamacare

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 10 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

No kidding. We'll have someone with no morals who thinks the American people are stepping stones. She'll probably expand the NSA's powers and declare all criticism terrorism.
