For R&B: Marvin Gaye, Daniel Caesar (my fave NEW R&B dude), Aretha Franklin, Nina Simone(who is also kinda jazzy), Etta James, Kurtis Mayfield, Bruno Mars (especially his newer stuff with Silk Sonic), Mariah Carey, Bill Withers, Sade.

Pop is really what you're gonna see on the charts, so I'd recommend sifting through the top lists. Maybe check out some charts in different countries. Personally, I don't listen to it because it mainly consists of the "hoe music" you're talking about. Not to say there's never anything good on the charts, but it takes a lot of sifting.

Christian: My personal favorite new stuff is by For King and Country and CeCe Winans. I really like Johnny Cash's gospel albums, everything recorded by Dr CJ Johnson (very energetic stomp and clap music), Mahalia Jackson, The Pilgrim Travelers, Sam Cooke, Al Green, and Aretha Franklin did some amazing R&B gospel.

Traditional country is seeing a huge resurgence right now with Colter Wall, Chris Stapleton, Tyler Childers, Brent Cobb, and Sturgill Simpson.

Everything else I listen to is a little bit more niche, so I'm not sure you'd be interested. Stuff like metalcore, classical, jazz, bluegrass, etc. So if you want any other more niche recommendations I can do that too, if you like.

RnB: Jill Scott, Aaliyah, Mary J. Blige, India Arie, old Mariah Carey music, Amerie, TLC

And Kenny Rogers while not RnB has some good blues songs as well as his country songs. "Lady" is one of the most romantic songs ever.

Chris Stapleton also has a good blues/country sound. I'm currently listening to "I Was Wrong" on repeat. Haha

Pop: Sia, Aurora (Norwegian artist with beautiful pop songs), Ace of Base, The Bangles, George Michaels, Yvonne Ellison, Tina Marie... if you look at 80s music or foreign pop artists, there's a good selection

And just because I feel like these ladies should be in everyone's music list: Dolly Parton, Ella Fitzgerald, and Patsy Cline

Full text: My husband calls my music “hoe music” and he’s honestly right. I listen to the same artists I did pre-RPW and the music doesn’t age well or really fit into my lifestyle or likes anymore.
