Bill said one single piece of evidence could change his mind while Ham responded that nothing would change his mind from believing in the word of God. Most so-called feminists are exactly like this. You could present all the evidence in the world but they would still prefer to believe their version of reality.

Ah... it's a Lindy West article. After reading about three paragraphs of that drivel I had to scroll up to confirm my suspicion. Lindy has the magical ability to make anything else written on Jezabel look sane and articulate when compared to her rage filled little rants. The amount of screeching stupid that falls out of her mouth is amazing.

I actually found this video a couple of days ago through a tweet from Evan Marc Katz, one of the more successful dating coaches (for women) in the country. He praises this video in this blog. All successful dating coaches have to understand the absolute realities of attraction and dating so they can provide good information and advice and stay in business.

Jezebel is an ideologically-driven website that attempts to insert its wildly unrealistic political views into attraction and dating. Note that comments inevitably bring up the LGBT community. They are focusing on the exceptions to the rule and are trying desperately trying to transform exceptions into the rule. They will fail but in the process, are sowing confusion amongst both women and men. Jezebel is actually doing a great service for dating coaches.

However, the video is pernicious in what it omits -- perhaps the video makers dare not go there. I recall that line in "Dune" about the best lies being the ones that are as close to the truth as possible.

Those aren't objective measures for ability to adapt. Those are objective measures of how much young men are performing for the culture at large. Often, opting out of a paradigm is a form of adaption.

In general, men tend to perform as well, or as poorly as the women in their lives permit.

As far as what society as a whole, or women, want. Not according to what the men want, which may just simply be to play video games and enjoy delicious food.

If women demanded a higher price for sex, we'd be seeing...

fewer men willing to pay that higher price, even if the majority remained willing to purchase. They have neglected to take into account what women are offering men, and the possibility of pricing oneself out of the market, even as a coalition. Some are unable to pay, and there are often adjacent markets (such as video games!)

If anything, it's describing one grouping of effect/result in a much larger dynamic landscape. The fact that she can't deal with these market forces, and debate on those terms means that she is left with only ad homonym and frame-shifting.

Nooooo. This video talks about supply/demand of women as a whole, not of any individual woman. I don't recall mens preference for innocence being discussed at all. Nor did it discuss this as a woman's only resource. It merely focused on one set of market dynamics.

If anything, I agree with the error of choosing not to mention that western women's marital market value has decreased in other areas as well... but they had a specific focus for the video's topic, and I can respect that.

radishmag had an excellent response to this, that people are overlooking some precious observations in face of statistics: men aren't failing to adapt, they are in fact adapting very well. Men operate on incentives, remove the incentives and they see no logical reason to play a game that has no benefits.

If game demonstrates anything, its that men can be objective losers by metrics of wealth and career, yet pull more pussy in a weekend with some social clout than a good hardworking man can pull in years of pandering to women... Girls in their 20s sleeping with dudes that make people scratch their heads is probably the oldest story in the book of modern life.

Essentially, men, like it or not, do almost everything in their life with the objective of being attractive to women. When all the social constraints are removed, men don't want to work for something they can get for a wink, a drink, a smile and a bit of flirty chat (free, more or less).

Men are realizing that they can get what they want, without having to slave away at a job they hate, pay huge fees in an institution in exchange for a piece of paper, or put a ring on a womans hand, unlike their fathers and their fathers before them.

The author also fails to realize something about the study of economics. Economics itself is the study of people's behavior. It is essentially psychology, but uses different mechanisms of explanation that psychology typically uses. The idea of sex as a market place is one helpful way of thinking about people's behavior and attempting to make sense of it.

Liberalism/feminism truly is a cathedral. Careful guys, these types of institutions have regularly tortured and killed in the name of their faiths throughout history. This is literally dark age-esque "thinking." I've always understood that the world is the matrix, long before this subreddit existed, but only now do I understand the degree to which it is insane.

These fundamentalists are largely atheist but it doesn't even matter; they have a new type of God. For so long I smugly thought that abolishing religions would help humanity reach the next level, the stars, but it seems the problem isn't religion: it's human nature itself. We're stupid two-legged cattle and inventing supernatural beings is the least of our problems. At least religious types tend to be more traditional (i.e., sane) towards proper behavior.

The golden age in the West is long gone, we all know that. But soon it will become a truly ugly place indeed. In fact, I'd bet on it.

Brandon Watson of the Austin Chronicle did a little reporting on who's behind this video. It turns out to be the Austin Institute for the Study of Family and Culture ("family and culture," of course, being the uncomfortable conservative euphemism for sex). This new organization is run, in part, by Mark Regnerus, most famous for publishing a thoroughly debunked study arguing that gay parents are bad for kids.
