Opposite gender advice is generally completely useless. But then so is a lot of "cosmo" style advice.

With that said, all I can say is stick to the basics and don't try too hard to make yourself available. By basics I mean eye contact, smiling, light touching, that kinda thing. But don't overdo it and come on too strong. Be slightly more friendly than your friends.

Keeping a guy's attention is no different than keeping a woman's attention (I'm assuming you mean "without groping during the conversation"): keep up an entertaining conversation without becoming desperate/a clown. Non-fact-based conversations like "would you rather", hypotheticals, and games like "The Cube" are great ways to maintain a fun conversation that allow you to branch off once you've identified something they're passionate about.

If you're constantly going out with women who are hotter than you, you're putting yourself at a disadvantage. I'm a market researcher, so I'll tell you that even if it doesn't make logical sense, everyone makes relative choices, not absolute ones. We pick products because they're the middle price of three options presented, not because that choice was the best overall.

Ok....I've answered this kind of question before when teaching women's dating classes.

My answer is very similar to what I would tell men...it's all about who you go out with. If your friends block you or make it harder for you to meet men or take your targets...reevaluate who you go out with.

In your case, you may want to consider going out with friends who will work with you to meet men. It doesn't have to be a large group...a girl or two with you is probably fine unless you all coordinate well. I'm not saying that having a hot girl with you is a problem...because she can act as bait for groups of guys ...and you can meet guys together. But, you have to actually talk about wanting to meet men and work together. You can even come up with all kinds of tactics. How you position yourselves is important so that you look open and preferably that men will need to be near you (like near the bar of center of room). And learn what an "approach invitation."

You can also peel yourself or a couple of you off a group to meet men outside the group...plus...if your other friends know you are into a guy (you met him first and introduced him)...they shouldn't compete with you....girl code and all that. If they intentionally do, you have a different problem.

BTW, I've had married or taken women open groups of men, disqualify themselves, qualify the men for their friends, and then introduce them. This person can be besides the single girls in the group.

Oh, have NO men in your group when you go out. NONE. Not even a gay guy or someone else's BF.

Have you considered meetign men at the gym? Even changing gyms or getting a 2nd membership...where there are a lot of men? I did write an article on meeting people at the gym, but really what I am thinking about here is that muscle dudes would really appreciate (possibly prefer) you because you are in great shape and have that culture in common with them.

You're better served asking girls who are good at this. If you're asking for my advice, wear flattering clothes and makeup, make yourself available even with friends - like standing apart from them, looking around, etc. Kino guys you like, arms, chest, hands. Don't get wastey face. Talk about your interests, outside of basic socializing and your job (assuming you have a normal office job). If he's with friends, push them onto your friends to make it easier.

Hey girl! I think the first thing you should know is that men's attraction towards women is largely superficial, especially when compared to women's attraction to men.

So the discouraging truth in this is that somtimes there's nothing you can do when another chick with longer legs and silkier hair swoops in to steal your guy's attention.

For this reason, an ugly man can do a looot more for himself than an ugly woman could to become more attractive. (I know It's completely unfair, but I didn't make the rules)

The good news in all this is that an attractive woman almost ALWAYS holds sexual sovereignty over men in social situations. In other words, a woman's sexuality is much much more powerful socially.

In a simplistic sense, if you can harness this energy, tastefully and controllably exploit it, you will have a leg up on the other girls who are simply better looking than you -- you have to get good at "rocking it" or " strutting your stuff" so to speak.

You will have to ask someone else on how to specifically do this cause yea know, I'm a dude and how girls be hot mystifies me.

An extremely beautiful woman's downfall is when she thinks it's enough to just show up and look hot. It's enough to get some guys, the shallow and needy guys. But do you really want them?

My advice would be to pay attention to that girl who always seems to have lots of guys interested in her, but.. just isn't that hot. What does she do?

Be assertive and confident but not overly confident and not bullish. Eye contact and smiles are a good way to get us interested but I honestly couldn't tell you specifically what it is that keeps my interest after the initial attraction other than "don't be boring."

To bad girls aren't really spending as much time and energy trying to figure out these nuances as guys are. If I try and look at what keeps my attention, here is what I see.

Small touches. Extreme eye contact. Report seeking tonality (end on a high pitch). Making me chase a little.. But still making it clear she is interested. If a girl does this and I'm not all over her, it's because I'm not physically attracted.

Now for that part, guys select mates bases on physical characteristics primarily. I personal don't like body builder style girls. You may find guys you like will not be interested in your physical looks and nothing you can do about that. Others will love it, so don't worry about it, just realize not everyone is a match.

Remember with attraction your in the drivers seat. Guys just need a go signal from you if they are interested and it should be on. The hard part for you would be after that. I can't help with that, I suck at that part myself.

You should honestly ask a couple of girls who you trust and know what they're doing. Getting opposite gender dating advice is really not effective at all. I could tell you things like, "oh you just have to be more sexier because all we guys care about is appearance, so just be more sexier than your friends" but the truth is there are definitely some sub communications going on during the interaction. I only know what works for trying to pick up girls, look over /r/fPUA for a community of women who know what they're doing
