Hey guys, so this happened last night...

It's almost 11pm and a two of my friends came over to my apartment. We had planned to go over to the library to simply work on approach, and possibly get numbers, without being outcome depended (essentially no expectations of what would unfold). I see a game of mine, "Connect Four" sitting on the shelf of my apartment. I came up with the idea to simply go up to girls studying like we planned to meet up and kick their ass at Connect Four. We head to the library and start on the basement level where you are aloud to talk as loud as you want. We scan the area and I see a girl sleeping on the couch, passed out from reading this book next to her head. I decided to make my approach.

I start setting up the game and I notice she started to calmly wake up. I look at her with a warm smile and say "Hey, sorry I was late." She starts looking slightly confused, still laying down. I then said "You want yellow or red" to which she replied: "I don't know what's happening right now." That made me chuckle, she sat up and I made the first move and she started playing. I never asked permission, I was never serious, I just had fun. She did too, and appreciated me waking her up. We played three games, talking for 30-40 minutes before I decided to move on and for her to finish her book. We have similar tastes in humor and TV shows (made a running gag with her about going into law to "lawyer" people-- HIMYM reference). That was one of the most genuine approaches I've done.

My buddy tries this out with two different girls and got one of them asking for his snapchat. We believed it's such a fun, spontaneous thing to do, that just about anyone would be down to play at least one game to break the monotony of studying. We also peppered in more personal serious questions as the games progressed, and negging was much easier (e.g., I'm her to kick your ass on this Connect Four date"). It was all in good taste and conversation was much funnier because of this.

Tl;dr Did something out of the ordinary to people looking bored, they loved it.
