Gary Kasparov, the famous chess player who played the IBM Deep Blue computer wrote a book about business and he dedicated a whole chapter on Tactics vs Strategy. The difference he noted was that from play to play you had to use Tactics. These were always short term decisions to win a short term battle. However, any business, country, or person needed a long term Strategy to win the war over the long term.
Tacticians he noted could always achieve a limited degree of success, but a true Strategist won in the long term. In the short term a Tactician can feel that they just won their battle only to realize 15 moves later that the they played right into the Strategist's trap.
The PUA\Seddit community as a lot of AFCs are learning isn't really about pulling women. The Tactical game. That's what the lay reports focus on, but AFCs easily miss the point of it. Lay reports are the END RESULT of a Strategic implementation someone made as a former AFC. Along the line they learned the Tactical advantages that they use in the field. They'll have moderate success, and to an AFC they'll look like gods. But to someone that has truly achieved their inner game, and become their own man, they are miles away.
So now to transplant this. What are Tactics and Strategy really in the PUA game? Tactics are
- Openers
- Canned material
- Objection\Shit Test Handling
- etc etc
As was said earlier, a spectacular Tactician can achieve moderate levels of success. Even a depressed Mc Donald's fry cook can go sarging and pull tail if they have a good tactical game. But eventually if they are going to want to make things easy on themselves they need to be working on their Strategy.
So what is Strategy? Strategy is your inner game. Your hobbies, interests, passions, career and who you are.
Do you have an idea in your head of who you are and who you want to be? If that question sounds ridiculous to you, you should give some serious consideration to regearing what you think this is all about. Also, this is who YOU want to be. If you try to be who you think other people want to be, you might succeed at that, but you'll fail at being a leader of men.
The long term goal is inner game. And to get there you have to be willing to sacrifice, take risks and be yourself.
I've seen a lot of people say things like "You DON'T want to be yourself. You want to be your BEST self."
Wrong wrong wrong. You don't want to be your fake self. Being your fake self says you are ASHAMED OF WHO YOU ARE. Someone that is solid in who they are isn't ashamed of who they are.
I don't give a fuck what you or anyone thinks of me, because I know that people enjoy being around me. And if you or anyone else doesn't, its probably because they are intimidated.
When you really stop caring about what people think of you you'll notice a couple things. First and foremost, you begin to notice that a lot of people are scared. They are scared of what's going to happen with them and their career, they are scared of what would happen if they said how they really felt, they are scared of what would happen if they... they are scared.
Being the best you is lowest common denominator incongruity. There's a thousand of those guys at every club. They're all wearing the same clothes, the same sunglasses, the same watches and they all work in middle management and hate their lives. They are master Tacticians, and terrible Strategists.
As you begin to achieve greatness and become fulfilled in your life, your Strategy will begin to trump the Tactics.
While everyone else was worried about becoming who they really are, you blazed the trail. You kicked down the doors. You showed that you were a man all along.
And now...
You are the leader of men.
I sacrificed and now run a successful business on my time, doing what I want. I'm unapologetic about my political beliefs, my atheism, anything really. I live my life with passion, and now, not only do the tactics come naturally but I've achieved my long term Strategy.
When I read the "be the best you" it seemed to make sense to me at the time, eventually I realized that this idea is entirely unnecessary. What you begin to realize is that over time, as you become more and more fulfilled and balanced as a human being, you will become a better you anyways. Its all part of the human condition and the self improvement process.
You don't sit at home and play video games in your sweat pants because "that's who you are." You do that because at that time, that is the best you. But as you become more and more accomplished and set in your life, you'll find better things to do and just be a better person.
I began to look through pictures of me people had tagged and realized a change over the last couple years. In all the recent pictures I had, people were looking at me. They wanted to be me. It was a weird realization. But it was telling. By being the person I wanted to be, and achieving success in both the business world and life in general I had won the war.
So if you think you're getting into this because you want to bang that hot chick you saw down at the coffee shop, great. You could probably do that with enough effort and skill. Be a Tactician. But if you really want to do it right, work on yourself and who you are. Become balanced and happy. Take risks in life and just be a good person to be around. Be a Strategist. Then she'll come to you.
It feels nice to say "now they approach me."
Checkmate.
