So went out solo last night to a dub step concert and decided to experiment a little w/framing -- I was a bit timid at first, but a few songs in I was dancing all crazy and getting into the music as if I was actually playing it on stage (I'm in a band, so visualizing this was actually easy). I could def tell people were paying attention - just like they would if I were on stage. I felt them trying to figure me out. I felt them challenging my frame. I waned a little here and there for sure - got a little self-conscious, but for the most part I was totally in it. A few minutes into the headlining set I start to notice something amazing -- girl after girl (all 10's) would position themselves right up next to me with such regularity it made me laugh. It was like they were taking turns! All night long, to the very end of the night I had this happening. All in I'd say I had about eight diff 10's do this.

The girls would come into my orbit (less than a foot away), I'd stick to my dancer/performer frame, the girls would giggle/smile, try to make eye contact w/me, whisper back and forth to each other a little bit, and then drift away when I didn't approach them. Some came back for a second or third try, even after I moved around to a different spot. I could also tell that other girls were watching all this -- as if they were waiting their turn. So all this was great, but I didn't approach a single one of them. Stuck to dancing all night -- and genuinely had a fantastic time.

I told myself I didn't want to approach because I just wanted to observe this time. I called bullshit on myself today though -- I know the real reason I didn't approach was because I was afraid a rejection would break down my frame and I'd lose my mojo.

I've never gotten this kind of attention at a club -- thought you had to be all type-A, Jersey Shore or high roller to get the attention of 10's. Somehow, riding solo w/no social proof whatsoever, I was able to draw them in over and over. I knew framing was important, but I guess I just didn't realize how powerful it can be.

So I'm going back out to try again tomorrow and Saturday night, but I will approach this time. My question: what did these girls want me to do? Asking for a number is hard with loud music. Dancing seems appropriate, but what kind of dancing? What kind of kino would be acceptable in this setting? Any suggestions would be awesome. Thanks!
